My computer won't stay on

We just moved apartments last weekend, and our computer was fine before we packed it all up and moved it. Now we have it all set up again, and when we push the on button, it brings up the main "Compaq" opening screen, then it reboots itself. Sometimes it can get to the desktop, and but then it still reboots. I can't seem to fiqure out the problem, because everything was fine a week ago! Please help!

Re: My computer won't stay on

It sounds like the the computer got tossed around during the move. You will need to disconnect all the internal cables and then reconnect them. If you need help with this part, open a chat session with me and I will walk you through it.

Once I turn on the laptop it stays stuck on the LG Splash screen, I press F2 to enter bios setup but it just stays on the splash screen, and nothing progresses, I can't do anything,

I've seen issues like this with a bad hard drive. When entering the bios it queries the hard drive first and it's got issues it can hang it up like this. If you have a spare try that. You can try to boot it without a hard drive to see if it gets past this. Some computers won't boot without a hd though. If you've got another computer you can look around online to make a flash drive bootable and use that instead of your hard drive. Lastly, get a new hd.

Help, my Asus Essentio CG5290 won't post after moving.

check the cable for the bad monitor at BOTH ends. Some cables detach from BOTH ends, and if one side is lose, then you will get weird stuff happening....odd colors, lines etc. would seem to be a bad cable....which would **** if it is one of those that does NOT detach from both ends.....since you can't just go get another monitor cable.

Gateway computer power cord will not stay in the back of the computer. Is the computer's port bad or do I just need a new power pack.

From the information that you have posted I would suggest that you try a new IEC Cable in the back of you computer. As long as there is no physical connection damage then the computer's port should be fine.

My computer keeps rebooting

Hello, Yes, first try to clean from any virus (most like it's the problem), but if doesn't work it could be that your PC power supply is overloaded and switch off. Check if you are connecting more hardware to your PC after unpacking in the new place than before....printers, scanners, etc, etc. Good luck.
