Question about LG Cell Phones

Changing ringtone The inside screen on my phone is broken. I want to change the ringtone. The person who gave me the phone no longer has the owners manual. I need someone with a similar phone to guide me through the process. I want to change the downloaded ring to a pre-programmed low ring with vibrate.

Set my fav tunes as ringtone ?

Ringtones or songs downloaded or copied to your storage card are not automatically added to the ringtone selection menu. You need to go to the Music application and set a ringtone or song in your storage card as your ringtone. To do that top up arrow and Music then tap the three paralel lines at the bottom-left corner of the screen to go to the Library. Play the song that you want to use as a ringtone and on the Playback screen, press MENU and then tap Set as ringtone.

To change the ringtone press MENU, and then tap Settings. Tap Personalize > Default ringtone. The Phone ringtone selection menu then opens and you can scroll through the available ringtones and tap the ringtone you want to use then tap OK.

Change ring tone

Here's how to choose your phone's tones, alerts, vibration etc: 1. On the main standby screen, press the white menu button.

2. Select "Settings".

3. Select "Personal".

4. Select "Profiles".

5. Double-click on the profile you normally use (this will usually be "General").

6. Select "Personalise".

7. Click on whatever you want to alter (for example "Ringing Tone" to change the call ringtone). Note that there are different ringtones for ordinary and video calls, and different settings for keypads and touchscreens.

8. When you've finished altering the settings, press the red button to go back to the main standby screen.

To switch to a different profile, tap the standby screen's date and choose the profile you want.

How to choose a ringtone from the music player You can also select a ringtone from the 5800's music player, just go to the track you want to use and select "Options". One of the options will be "Use Tone", giving you the choice of using it as the ringtone for the current profile, or as the tone for a specific person.

Bold 9000 ring and alert volume way too low, regardless of settings

Some of the ringtones in the Bold don't seem to be suited for "loud" profiles.
Try to edit your settings for the ringtone, making sure you pay attention to the correct settings.
To edit your ring settings
-go to your "profiles" screen -roll the ball to the bottom and select "advanced" -highlight the profile you want to edit -use your BB button to select "edit"
-choose the "phone" application -choose the setting you would like to edit (in holster or out of holster) -choose your volume setting from here.
This should solve your problem

Ringtones for caller id

To assign ringtones, you need to make sure the entries are stored to the phone, and not to the SIM card. To check where it's stored, go to the phone book, select the name of the person you want to personalize (ring tone, picture, etc), and click edit. In the Entry Details screen, the Store to: option probably says SIM. Change it to Store to: Phone. After you do that, there should be alot more info you can put in for the person. Near the bottom is "Ringer ID" and "Picture" which you can then customize for the person.

Hope that helps!
