so please enter the password.if you forget the password then go to service center there is no other solution.because your hard disk not boot until you enter password .it means no software can run to crack the password.

How would i reset my bios password for a 5542 acer aspire notebook?

Assuming you set the password, go to the BIOS, enter your current password, then go to the password tab and put in a new one.

If you forgot your password and if you have the receipt, a local non-big-box store could probably reset it.

Have an acer aspire 5315 laptop. I cannot reset the HDD password, so I can get on the computer

Remove the Acer BIOS passwords by simply opening their notebooks and removing the CMOS batteries for 30 minutes.

Once your BIOS password is removed, you will need to press the <F2> key during POST (Power On Self Test) to enter the Acer BIOS setup. See the below picture for reference

How to get password from hdd password error code acer aspire 4315

Is the error message coming before bios starts to load XP from harddisk, or after?

If it is coming after XP starts then it may be driver issue.

If it is coming before XP, then it may be a question of incorrect bios for the hardware in your laptop.

Bios Password Reset

The only idea I have is to find and disconnect the CMOS back-up battery after removing main battery and unplugging the AC adapter. That SHOULD clear the bios completely, wiping out the password, the date, and everything else.
I know this works on desktops, and most laptops, but no promises, and the cmos battery may not be easy to access.
You should probably leave the battery unhooked for at least 1-2 minutes to be sure it clears.

Hope this is some assistance!
