DLINK DWL-2100AP i connect a pre-congigured AP as repeater, so it should connect me to the main AP with same type and model of AP, the problem is i doesnt provide me an IP address from the main AP, what can be the problem? take note that the wireless connection is established, but give an error of time out while getting ip, we are in same room, so i think its not a prob of bad connction or disconnectivity.

Reset both of the APs back to factory settings, for starters. From here on, I followed a solution that I stumbled across:
____________________________________________________________
"1) Go to HOME > WIRELSS and choose WDS with AP.
2) Enter the oppsite DWL-2100AP's MAC Address in the first MAC space.
3) Enter an SSID, (this needs to be the same on both DWL-2100AP's)
4) Choose a channel, (this needs to be the same on both DWL-2100AP's)
5) Choose encryption, (this needs to be the same on both DWL-2100AP's)

And click APPLY.
Now do the same on the other DWL-2100AP."

I got this off the forums Mybroadband.co.za

You've connected two points and they will now show up as a single wireless connection. Since you've set them up as a bridge, you can have wired devices connect through them nice and easy. In my case, I used them to bridge a single wired connection from a router in one building, into a switch in the other building.

D-link dwl-2100ap in WDS mode Received Deauth: WLAN 1 11G STA

I have had similar problems with DWL-2100 and (much less often) with DWL-3200. I have no solution, but a workaround: changing the authentication mode. For example, if the units are using WPA-Personal, I change it (on both) to WPA2-Personal or WPA-Auto-Personal. It doesn't seem to matter which mode is used, it's just the fact of changing it that helps (eventually). You may have to go through the process more than once. Also, realize that although the web interface comes up 30 seconds or so after a reboot, it may take another 30-60 seconds before a link is established, so don't give up too soon while trying these changes.

Use with dwl-2100ap

What you need to do is configure the dwl-2100AP. You need to login into the repeater's configuration page and go to Home tab, click on wireless on the left. Select AP Repeater under Mode. A new screen will show up. Click on the scan button to see if your router's signal is being picked up in the box. Just select the signal if you see it in the box and put in your security info if you have one.

DWL-2100AP

To use the DWL-2100AP as an access point (repeater), You have to set it up on the repeater mode and type in the MAC address of the router. The best way to do this is to run the AP manager from the cd.
Here is a link to the D-Link support page. Click on product manual from under the Support resources
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=292:

copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Are you using the correct cable type. If it is a CAT5 type cable it could be you are using a patch cable rather than a straight through type or vise versa.
