Washing machine problem

Washing machine immediately starts draining upon starting. Performs all other functions fine. I've tried moving drain hose around to affect the siphoning. Not sure what to do.

- I appreciate the help but I think it may have to do with the timer. The washer is old and free so I think I'll just bite the bullet and invest in a new one. Thanks anyway.

make sure the drain hose is higher than the height of the water. if the hose is lower it will just keep draining out
