I have an HP Deskjet 842C that won't print text in black. I installed all parts of a color refill kit. All colors work fine, except black. Do I need a new cartridge? I used a Premium series kit made by Stratitec.

I purchased a c6180 in Jan 09 have just got the black working fine. After pulling the nachine apart, thinking maybe to soak the head, found micro pump for ink air in black line Run copy black only (took maybe 12x25 times) then head clean Try head clean after 50 copies Voila! Black Cannot rule out that reseating all connections helped
