Start Dell Inspiron 1300 then on screen reads "No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility. Read failure on internal hard drive. Recovered once by F12and then diagnostics but nothing since. Please help, this is my old faithful. Many thanks, Dave.
Your Hard Drive may have failed. to be sure. enter setup (F2) then run the hard drive diagnostic utility. a scan can take up to an hour or more and will tell you if your hard drive has failed. if it has you will need to replace it and reinstall your operating system
