I'm trying to install more RAM in my Acer Aspire D270-1410 but can't get the case open. Unlike most notebooks there is no access panel just 3 screws along one edge. Any suggestions?

Just unscrew the back of your Acer, then back to front and get a small flat screw driver then slowly pull out the keyboard by inserting the flat screw at the edge,be carefull to pull out the keyboard because there is flix connection that you need to remove before you totally get the keyboard....after you get the keyboard you can see now a lot of screw that connected at the back cover of your Acer unscrew all of that and now you get the cover at the back and you can now change your RAM

How to install memory to my Acer Aspire 570 G Notebook PC

Most laptops have a panel on the bottom of the laptop that provides access to the RAM memory slot/s. Remove this panel to reveal the RAM slot, Insert a RAM module that is the same make and model as the original one.
If your laptop has a single 512Mb RAM module then add another 512Mb of RAM to increase the total RAM to 1Gb.

Note book blue screen and report some type of error

This is BSOD short for Blue Screen Of Death, it is usually is a RAM or driver problem. Claim warranty support if available. If your notebook is out of warranty do the following:

Remove the screws that secure the RAM access panel.
Remove the RAM modules and clean the gold fingered connectors with tissue paper.

Now reinstall the modules in the correct orientation. Attention to the cut-out in the module for allignment.
Secure the RAM access cover with the screws and power on.

If it still gives you problems install the graphics driver for your notebook. Visit the Acer website and click their support button. Then select Netbook, then Aspire, then One Netbook, then click confirm. Download and install the graphics driver, latest one only.

Heat is another factor that pertains to BSOD, overheating of the Graphics card, RAM or Processor can also cause this error. Be sure to allow air into your Netbook. Try not to obstruct the intake and exhaust vents.

Take care!

If you can do it by yourself, you can refer to this manual, Page 19. Manual Good luck..

HOW DO I install new memory in acer aspire L320

First step would be to lookup your system specs either in your manual or at the Acer website. See what RAM is compatible with your system. Once this is done purchase what you need. Open the case and you should see the RAM modules & slots. If you are replacing RAM you will need to remove the old first. If you are adding to empty slots just line it up properly and seat it in the open slots. Close the case and reboot. System should automatically recognize the new specs. Make sure you disconnect power and properly ground yourself before touching anything inside your case. Hope this helps.

Install new ram in Acer aspire L320?

Sorry- I have to disagree, One screw at the back releases the lid. Inside, the dvd/hdd sub-chassis has one screw holding it to a brass post on the mobo. Undo that, then lift the chassis slightly with it's plastic strap handle, so you can detach the two connectors from the SATA drive, and the ribbon cable to the DVD (careful you don't bust the latch).

Then the whole lump simply lifts out- and you can see the 2 memory cards. The one I've just looked at appears to have 2 x 512mb simms- so you could replace these with 2 x 1024mb DDR2 SDRAM simms, to give 2GB of ram, which is what Acer say is maximum.

Cheers- AL (Luton)

Acer Aspire RAM

There are 4 screws holding the cover on the bottom of the computer that allows access to the RAM modules. (This is the same cover that also covers the fan. The same cover with the ventilation slots.)

Simply remove the screws and lift the cover by the indent to the right of the battery lock.

Acer Travelmate 2200 keyboard removal

open the small horizontal panel above your keyboard with a small screwdriver (you should do it gently) > open the screw below that panel > open your keyboard (be careful not to pull your keyboard too hard because there is cables underneath your keyboard) > from there, your memory slot should accessible.
