Gmail on iphone

I have looked all over and cannot find a simple answer to my problem. I want to get all my gmail messages in both my iphone inbox, and my mail.app inbox. i can get all my messages if i enable recent mode in the settings on my iphone, but then i get all of my sent messages in my inbox as if i have CCed myself on every message. if i turn recent mode off, then i don't get my sent messages, but i don't get most of my new messages in both inboxes. if i look at a message on the iphone, that message does not appear in my inbox on my laptop. if I look at a message on my laptop, it does not show up in inbox on the iphone. Is there any solution to this?

Hello, I agree with Veggie Boy - This will solve your problem. You will also need to sign into your GMail account and under settings you will need to turn IMAP access on. Good Luck! Dr. Know

Gmail recently released IMAP protocol. I suggest you use this protocol instead of POP servers. Go to Setting in Gmail and choose IMAP instead of POP. There is a video tutorial on new servers. This should solve your Gmail issues.

Get my screen full size on my iPad gmail

Google is releasing a design update to Gmail for iOS today that tweaks the apps for iOS 7 and introduces new viewing modes on the iPad. While the iPhone version of Gmail remains largely unchanged aside from some bigger fonts and a matching status bar, the iPad version now includes a left-hand navigation bar when in landscape mode that allows for easy access to the inbox tabs that Google introduced in May. In portrait mode, messages will now take up the entire display, rather than just a portion of it, as will the new message composition window.

Delete unwanted gmail that was added to my phone

When you open or select a message, you can use these icons to remove it from your Inbox:
2fc3e7ebca00a83809375c4e51c9b1bd5f3c Archive 52d35e0530874b7e970ee7ece8fdfb242d6b Delete You can archive and delete messages one-by-one or select multiple messages. To archive or delete all messages, you'll need to sign in to Gmail on your computer.
What happens when I archive or delete a message?
2fc3e7ebca00a83809375c4e51c9b1bd5f3c Archive removes the message from your Inbox but keeps it in your account so that you can find it later.
52d35e0530874b7e970ee7ece8fdfb242d6b Delete moves the message to the Trash where it will be permanently deleted from your account after 30 days. Messages deleted from Trash can't be recovered.
Gmail gives you plenty of storage space, so if you think there's a chance you'll need the message later, just archive it.

Restore my Gmail account

Many email users know the feeling of having inadvertently clicked the wrong link in their email program. In a moment, they can wipe out hours of work.
Other users have faced the frustrations that result when a mistaken click deletes their entire email history.
Gmail has built safeguards into its email program that will allow a user to recover deleted emails. Gmail also allows a user to recover a deleted Gmail account as long as the core Google account remains active.

Log in to your Google account using your Google username and password.
Go to the Google homepage and click "Sign up for Gmail."
The Gmail sign-up form will open with your former Gmail username in the username field.

Complete the sign-up form and enter your existing Google account password. Click "Continue."
Your Gmail inbox should appear.

Restoring a Deleted Gmail Email

Open the Gmail inbox page and click "Trash" on the left-hand toolbar.

Click the box next to the message that you would like to restore.

Click the "Move To" button on the Trash box's toolbar, and then click "Inbox" on the dropdown menu.
The deleted message will be restored.

Email messages occasionaly disappear after being cancelled , cannot be found anywhere?

If you canceled or deleted you can retrieve them in most web email clients.

GMail:
If you've deleted a message permanently, by clicking Delete Forever in your Spam or Trash, it isn't possible to recover the message.
If you've moved a message to Trash, by clicking Delete, but it's been fewer than 30 days and you haven't permanently deleted it, follow these steps to put it back in your inbox:
  1. Sign in to Gmail.
  2. Click Trash along the left side of any Gmail page. (If you don't see Trash along the left side of your Gmail page, go to the Labels tab in Settings, then click the show link next to the Trash label.)
  3. Locate the message you'd like to move to your inbox, and check the box next to the sender's name.
  4. Click Move to Inbox.
Yahoo:
Of course, you can also undelete a message quickly as long as it is still in your Yahoo! Mail's Trash folder.
Undelete Mail in Yahoo! Mail To undelete a message in Yahoo! Mail or Yahoo! Mail Classic:
  • Go to the Trash folder.
  • Open the desired message.
  • Click Move in the Yahoo! Mail toolbar.
  • Select Inbox or any other folder to recover the message.
    • In Yahoo! Mail, you can also drag and drop the email to any folder, of course.
Also you can serach on Yahoo itself by look at the left upper corner you can see a search bar if you
remember some info. from the sender.

Email deleted on the server still remains in my iphone

That's strange. Except if you have the iPhone email settings set to POP instead of IMAP ...
Without knowing how much you have troubleshooted this already, I'll suggest making sure that IMAP is ENABLED on ALL your Gmail accounts and ALSO that IMAP is enabled on all your iPhone email accounts.
If IMAP is working properly you should stay in synch, no matter how you check or delete individual emails.
If you have IMAP enabled on one of the Gmail accounts, you can still access it via POP settings with the iPhone. If this is the setup, then when you delete an email on the server, it will not be synced when you check your mail on the iPhone, but instead you'll just retrieve any new mails that hadn't already been retrieved previously. However, if you delete a mail message on your iPhone in this scenario, it will not "return."
Good luck!
