DEH-1900MP - lost functionallity after disconect/connect batery

I took my wife's car, a Izusu Rodeo 1999 to fix some problems regading reving up (high RPM) and mechanic said it had to replace EGR part. The car is runnnig ok now..but the CD/radio is all messed up. The CD that was inside ...I can't takeit out...when I press eject, the display shows me... ERROR -A0. I tried everything by turnig ignition on/off etc and didn't work. The radio is all messy. I can't switch stations, the sound comes weird just in one channel, I lost all preset stations etc. Is there any fude that might blew or any reset button that I can fix this? I can't believe that a nommal service like replacing a car batery or disconnecting could damage the radio. I installed at Circuit City where I had already another service in my other cara and they did a great job. Please help me

Thanks for your help. I disconnected the battery, connected again, pressed "eject" button on CD player and everything started working again. I just had to reprogram the preset stations, sound (bass.treble, etc)

I have a very similar problem with my wife's car. The battery went dead. I did disconnect the battery momenarily, but it did not seem to "reset" the radio. My wife is upset about the CD that is stuck inside of the player. Any other suggestions?

Yes for some radio's if you take away power it has a theft lock and will not let you back in except if you have the code. To reset you must take power away from it. I would suggest if you don't want to take cd player out of car then disconnect battery. then when reconnect eject. May have to set for a moment.

Same problem. Battery went dead and I received the error AO message when I tried to play a CD. A Circuit City installer pulled my deck with the extraction keys and grounded out the deck by applying one of the wires to the small indentation on top of the desk. That reset the theft prevention on the CD player and I was happy until my battery went dead again. :(

Well we have a short in our 99 izusu was fine when we baught it and now it has a short causing the marker lights to go out.. put fuses in an it kept blowing. it didnt start acting up until we...

ck to make sure the radio itself is not pinching any wires wiggle the wiring harness around .. a blown fuse is a direct short but also try this disconect one marker lite at a time you could have one bad marker lite causing the problem it could be just a coincidense with the radio installation

CD player wont work on my DEH-1900MP

Has the humidity ruined the unit?  Is it getting power?  If you have a yacht you can definitely afford a replacement.  They make splash covers and marine quality radios.  Try ebay.

Are you using the factory wires in the VW to install the stereo? You may have to re-wire the speakers and power, ground wires, etc. with new wire. In a car that old, the wires are probably in bad condition - especially where you can't see. Hope this helps...
