I just purchase a used 900c and I want to upgrade my word, excel, powerpoint reader to full function office. Is there a software that is compatible with windows ce 4.2 net? In addition, are there any external DVD/CD drives that are compatible to the 900c OS

Re: upgrade from reader to full function

Cmonex has put together a lot of software for the 900c - a great ROM v2 which includes full versions of PocketWord, PocketExcel, Pocket Access and Pocket Powerpoint. You can download this all for free here:
Look around her site. You'll be AMAZED at what she's done for the NEC 900C

Older palm products and vista aren't compatible. You either needs to transfer info via bluetooth or upgrade your palm if you wish to continue using vista.

Are yous sure it is running CE.NET 4.2? I dont think that the HPC 2000 version can effectively use the USB host. If it is HPC 2000 after all, upgrade the ROM. Try to upgrade your ROM.

Cassiopeia E100, is there anyway to view excel files?

Yes there certainly is. Get SpreadCe programme from ByeDesign. It can handle .xls files upto & including Office 2K in native format. Have no experience with Office XP. As a matter of fact I find it better than Pocket Excel included in CE 3.0 and later. I store my files under My Documents folder on the CF card using a USB card reader/writer. Hope this helps.
