Hello !
When I encountered the same problem, I proceeded as following :
Enter BIOS setup using DEL or what other key your motherboard requires. Choose the ATA instead of AHCI on the SATA configuration. Apply changes then insert your CD/DVD in your CD/DVD-rom. Also make sure you have chosen the CD as your first boot device.

It is not starting up

Good day. I suggest for you to reinstall windows and use the repair options. Usually software encounter errors or some files might get corrupted causing your computer not to boot up properly. The repair option in Windows XP will help you to fix those issue. here are the steps to follow:

1. Rule out hardware issues. Windows Repair will only fix software problems. Hardware issues can also cause boot problems (i.e. bad hard drive, memory, CPU, or power supply).

2. Backup. It's always a good idea to backup your important data before making changes to Windows XP. Relax, if you follow these instructions your data will be perfectly safe.

3. Boot from your Windows XP CD. Insert the Windows XP CD into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer. When the "Press any key to boot from CD" message appears on the screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.

4. A blue screen will appear and begin loading Windows XP Setup from the CD.

5. When completed loading files, you will be presented with the following "Windows Setup" screen, and your first option. Select "To set up Windows XP now, press ENTER". DO NOT select Recovery Console.

6. Then press F8 to continue

7. Next, Windows Setup will find existing Windows XP installations. You will be asked to repair an existing XP installation, or install a fresh copy of Windows XP.

8. Then just choose repair option to repair your Windows Xp

9 Then it should work. If iin any case that will not solve the issue, you might try to install fresh copy on Windows Xp

Hope this information will help you resolve your issue. Have a great day.

NTLDR is missing

Insert and boot from Windows XP CD just as if u want to do a new installation entirely

1- If it detects the operating system - just do a repair
2- If it fails to detect the initial operating system
- Restart and allow the CD to run
- In the first Dialog window press R (Recovery Console)
- then type CHKDSK /p /r at the command prompt

Xp recovery

You need to download all the drivers installer files from manufacturer website first, and also all the software you want to install automatically with Windows. Then you build a Windows Xp boot CD with all the software setup embedded.

Windows xp professional version 2002,service pack 2

after removing the virus ... some of the system file has became unstable .... so you are facing this type of problem ....
so the solution is to reinstall the windows xp professional sp2 again ....
if you have very important programs which you dont have back up then just you have to do is you start the set up by boot disk of windows xp sp2 (actually all windows cd s will be the boot disk only if we just copy the exact windows cd with out changing anything especially "cdlabel")
so just insert the boot disk cd in to the drive and make the boot from cd (it must be done b4 os loads) so just have the check in bios that the first boot device is cdrom and then boot the set from cd then it will ask "press enter to install winxp" you must press enter then after it will detect the partitions for "previously installed operating system" if it detect the installed "windows xp" means they it will prompt for repair option here... you must press R here ... if you press R at the first time before detecting i mean in the previous step than this means it will take you to recovery console ....
so besure to follow these steps....
after giving repair it will repair and ur problem will be solved

My dvd rw is not detected

When installing SP2 version, you possibly corrupted the drivers for the DVD. It is possible there are different drivers for the DVD between XP and XP (sp2). Go to the laptop mfg website and download the newest drivers for the DVD.
