Question about Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop Computer

NO SPEAKERS SOUND

I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO HEAR ANY SOUND FROM MY SPEAKERS SINCE I ACQUIRED THIS COMPUTER A FEW MONTHS AGO. THE SPEAKER WIRES ARE PLUGGED INTO THE POWER UNIT.

    I have a new Dell Inspiron 530. Can't get sound of any kind from the speakers. Have matched the color coding and all, still no sound, not even a hiss from the speakers. The speakers have a color coded plug and a USB plug. Does the USB port have to be hooked to a specifice USB port?

    Is the driver installed? Is there a speaker icon in the bottom right of your screen? Is it muted?

The speakers that come with the Dell unit have no visible markings for an on/off switch. Plugging in the speakers does not automatically turn them on. The switch is the round disc looking item on top of the "main" speaker. I found it accidentally (no instruction anywhere). Simply rotate the switch and you're speakers will turn on. Set your volume and enjoy!

Ok, there is a plug that looks green on the back of the unit. Match the color coding on the back of the unit and on the sound card. Make suire its plugged in the right hole because you got LINE IN- MIC and SPEAKER.. if its a 7.1 sound card then you probably got CENTER- RIGHT AND LEFT and so on.. check your cabling..

click start control panel hardware and sound manage audio devices playback you should see your speakers right click select enable or you might have to configure them this option will be at the bottom of of the playback list also right click on the speaker select properties you should see a few tabs general levels enhancement and advanced you might find you need to select a different option possibly stereo or dvd or studio quality windows7

Dell 745 - only gets sound from speakers


Onboard sound does not need drivers. The little speaker is attached to the motherboard directly or by wires plugged into the motherboard. You need to check to see which speaker you have. Once you have found out, be sure that, if it has wires attached to it, that they are plugged in.

Try to disconnect the input connector of your speaker and touch the input jack of the unit if you hear a hazing sound it means your speakers are working properly but if you don't hear any sound your speakers are bad. Open the speaker unit and check the amplifier section of your unit. If you don't see any burned electronic component inside. Check the wiring of your unit.
To check if the audio of your computer is working. Plug in the input a headset if you hear a sound while you playing a music in your computer it means the audio of your computer is working good.

Center/subwoofer speaker out...mixed


Hi all, I also purchased a logitech x-540 a few days ago and also have the center speaker outputting sound when i test or play the subwoofer. I didn't think this is normal and am now confused. Maybe its a problem with the audio drivers? MB is a ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 with Soundmax drivers. Hopefully someone can help to diagnose/ find a soluytion.

unless you are capable of replacing the jak on the speaker u need a new pair. the wiring functions the the jack which is now broken

Right speaker doesnt have sound


1ST.-The right jack could be damaged!!
Usually, there is a [+} posaitve & [-] negative input\output to speaker connections. Not all [-]neg. is ground.Sometimes the [+] pos. is grounded. [The exception to the rule is that u SEE the black wire going to ground] the reason I am letting u know this is that u can test the INSIDES of the sound system.
If u can get inside of the unit. Cut the left speaker output [+] posative from both outputs. criss\cross wires.Place left speaker output to right speaker jack[ that does not work!!] & visa versa.If the [LEFT Output] stops working after u plug in the speakers,the internal RIGHT output is damaged. NEEDS TO BE TESTED
If nothing nothing changes.The left still works & the right still does not work, then it is the jack (shorted ?, opened internally ?)

Logitech mm50 very little sound coming from right speaker


Check the cables and see if there is a tear, or unscrew the cover of the speaker (if possible) and see if the contact is frayed or only holding by a couple of wires. This will reduce the sound quality.

If not, the speakers are faulty, and they are not worth replacing. Just purchase a new set.

Volume control unresponsive


The LED didn't turn on ,indicate the DC pwr was missing , you need to ensure there is a Dc supply to the speaker unit,once you got the LED on you will be able to control the volum.

No sound from headphones connected to speaker


I may be too simple of an answer but that would happen if the headphones weren't plugged all the way in. If there is a bend in the connector and it's hitting the speaker they may not be plugged in all the way.
