Fuji s5100 batter door cover prongs are broken off.

Can I get a replacement cover, and how much does it cost with shipping or should i just take it to a repair shop               /

Camera fell and the prongs that lock the lid into place when closed down are all broken. A rubber band is currently whats holding the batteries in place - not a pretty sight.

    Can this be repaired? Where?

I have the simple and cheap fix to a frustrating problem!
Just take a tripod base and screw it into the bottom of the
camera. The square tripod base is large enough to hold the battery
cover on the camera closed without any interference.
So there you go! No tape, rubber bands or other crazy contraptions!
Cheap, Quick and simple.

good solution that worked for while till the metal screw of the tripod broke the plastic plastic filament of the camera hole; the weight of 4AA batteries is too much

I have a s5500 with the battery lid clips broken.. fuji says ,, nope no warranty on that part ,, what a joke,,$120 dollars labour plus parts and freight for repair... anyway ,, went to jaycar (electrical supplies etc) and found a small metal clip/ fastener that I used on an existing exterior screw below where the strap is located. i then placed another screw in the lid that allows the remainding hole in the fastener to slip over, works like a charm. took me around 3 minutes to do and does not affect the grip on the camera and still alllows it to be easily opened and closed. I am most pleased i now have my camera back.

My Fuji Finepix S5100 camera keeps losing its settings and date and time when the batteries die. Is there a small "watch" type battery that can be replaced so it can keep its memory?

There is no "watch" battery in the camera. Always keep fresh batteries on hand and switch them out quickly. That usually solves the problem.

not sure who is in charge of inventing these, most annoying indeed. glad to hear you are replacing, trying a piece of tape etc can damage all sorts of stuff without you even noticing.

S2000hd batter door. One of the little plaastic "clips" on the canera body that the battery door latches into has broken and the door does not stay closed the way it should. Fuji tells me no warranty, body...

Get a piece of flat aluminium or steel approx 2 inches long, drill a hole at one end and use the Tripod socket to hold the flat steel down, over the batery lid to hold it shut.

Battery cover

Hi,
I had a look at my S5000 and see what you are talking about. Those tabs are part of the inner shell, likely expensive to replace if even cost effective. In the past, I have cut the broken tabs off, leaving a flush surface. I then drill small holes and insert large head screws that I file to match the door tabs. It does require some finite work but is possible without disassembly of the camera.
