Question about Troy Bilt Tb425cs 26cc 4 - Cycle Curved - Shaft Gas Trimmer with Ez - Start and Speed Spool

My Troybilt TB425CS will start and run at low speeds but dies

It starts fine but once I pull the trigger it dies. I sprayed carb cleaner into the carb while it was at idle. It dies immediately. I pull the cord a fews times and it starts again but still dies when I pull the trigger. I took the carb off and it looked clean but I sprayed it off anyway. The diaphragm looks fine. Put it back togther and still acts the same. Thank you.Starts ok, idles ok, when you get on it though it wants to die. Took apart carb and cleaned every conceivable part of it, good news is that before you could not blow thru it, now you can, but still more of the same. Brand new gas, plug old but I ground it on the housing so we are getting spark. Read about compression issues, have not tried that though.

Same problem here. but maybe after you blew the carb the chunk of gummed up **** released from the spot it was stuck in and then stuck in a new spot in the carb. i had this happen to me once. thought because i could now blow through it i didnt need to clean rest of carb. any time a chunk is released and even if you see a chunk come out expect some debri still left somewhere in carb. reclean it reset it pull your hi/lo jets out blow them ports clean reinstall them and resett them to 1&1/2 out sometimes cleaning wont work check for air leaks in lines and cap then possibly replace filter then plug then carb then machine good luck

No no no no no no no!!!
dont grind on a plug!! :D

Please get a new plug. Although there is spark - it is not enough to ignite the gas in the cylinder under load.
It is fine at idling because minimal gas is going into the cylinder.
Once under load (trigger pull) the gas/air mixture changes - and full spark is required.
Your engine is flooding because the plug is not igniting the gas.

Not only have you ground down the plug - but have also changed the spark gap.

PLEASE get a new plug, and be sure it is gapped correctly.

You did good cleaning the carb - but your problem lies in a $5.00 sparkplug.

Thanks for using FixYa !!

I would start with pulling the carbs, and cleaning the jets. run a wire from a wire blush , so you dont damage them, thru them, with some carb cleaner. should be fine after that. pull the jets and clean then, dont just spray carb cleaner thru them.

I would start with cleaning the throttle bore and plate. Then clean the Idle Air Control valve, IAC, as this is the device that controls idle speed. Use a can of spray carb cleaner and an old toothbrush. Trouble with the IAC would make sense if you can keep the engine going by holding down the gas pedal a bit.
Use the carb cleaner to check for vacuum leaks at hose connections and elbows. run engine and spray short bursts at hoses and listen for idle speed changes.
And lastly if problem is still there check MAP sensor.

79 yamaha XS 750 crank no start

well here goes your problem probably in the float bowl area water sediment blocked low speed jets if you do not want to do a complete tearmore down just clean the jets and float bowl.
Use a carb cleaner soak the jets make sure you can see through them the small low speed jets specially.
if you have access to air blow the jets clean.
spray any passage ways with carb cleaner reassemble good luck.
