DLP color Problem

I have a HP model md5880n HDTV. If I watch NFL, NASCAR in 1080i its great.However, when I'm watching other programs, in 720 or 480, I get weird color. Hard to explain It's like when I watch "CSI" being mostly in the dark the faces of the actors get a redish or greenish glow to them. I know that it is not the cable conection as I move to Direct TV, and I also get this when I watch a DVD disk. Any help on what this problem is called, or what might be the problem? Thanks Healey

how can i watch other format like 1080i, 720i

i only can watch the 480i format ,

do i need other equipment

Faces are green on my Panasonic HDTV DLP projection TV when we watch live tv or sports. If we are watching a video/dvd they are fine. What is wrong with the tv and is it worth fixing

Light engine is going to cost some bucks, but the good news is you can replace it your self. If you remember what you unhooked.

You need to replace the DLP chip in the TV. The whine may be coming from the cooling fan for the light.

the lamp exploded it happens u need to replace the lamp ensure its the exact type, the lamp is the light source and without light the dmd cannot sync colours nor pix

if you already check your cables.. and it's still the same.. the problem is probably the VIDEO BOARD

Tv turns off while watching it stays off a couple

Sharp 60" DLP 1080i , while watching cable, the show blinks off and on. but if we play video games or watch DVD's it works fine. what is wrong?

HP DLP Parts

the part for the light engine is L1798-60003 I was unable to find a parts distrubutor for it but I think if you bug HP enough they will cave and send you one. I could not find a part number for the color wheel, sorry.

Hi there looks like your DMD board went bad or is starting to unfortunately they don't sale just the DMD boards you have to buy the whole light engine system and that gets costly to be honest with you here is a link that tells you how this projection works and it could help you diagnose your TV set better here it is
