Question about Brother HL-2040 Laser Printer
Please make sure you have removed the packing strip from the toner cartridge. This is usually a pull tab that you wiggle to break and then pull out. (I am not 100% sure this cartridge has one, but 99% of cartridges do)
If you have done this, or the cartridge does not have one, then remove the cartridge, tilt it gently from side to side, and end to end, then front to back. Re-insert and check again. This model also gives toner out error LED for when a cartridge is not seated in properly
If the light is still on, you may actually have a faulty cartridge. This can happen. See if you can borrow a cartridge from a working machine. In the worst case, you may have to purchase another cartridge to "prove" this one is faulty.
