Poulan PBV200LE 2 cycle Blower will not start

While sucking up leaves a small piece of mulch hit the impeller blade and stalled the engine. I have not been able to start it since. I have good spark, the piston is moving up and down ok, the fuel filter is ok as fuel comes in and returns to the tank when I press the primer button. I put in new gas and oil mixed at 40:1 and it does not even attempt to fire. Before this happened it always started within the first two or three pulls. Any suggestions? Thanks Bill Y.

Thanks for the info. I will have to make up the special threaded bolt and get a puller which may take me awhile, but I will be working on it and let you know what happens. Thanks John.

>>From your Description it Sounds like the Flywheel Key was Damaged when the Mulch Hit the Impeller.
>>Replace the Flywheel Key.
>>The Following is a Basic Instruction File I made for Removing the Flywheel and Replacing the Flywheel/Flywheel Key.
>>Remove the Cover that Houses the Starter Assembly.
>>Remove the Spark Plug and Use a Bolt the Same Diameter and Threads as the Spark Plug and About 3" Long.
>>Thread the Bolt into the Spark Plug Hole Until it Engages the Piston.
>>Slowly Tighten the Bolt Until you have Locked the Piston and it Does Not Move. **BE CAREFUL A LOT OF TORQUE IS NOT REQUIRED. PISTON DAMAGE CAN OCCUR IF TO MUCH TORQUE IS USED ON THE STOP BOLT**
>>Now Remove the Flywheel Nut.
>>Use a 3 Jaw Puller and Attach the Puller to the Flywheel.
>>Look for a Puller with Flat Jaws. These Slide Under the Flywheel and Allow for Easier Removal.
>>Tighten the Puller and then Hit the Puller with a Hammer. Tighten and Hit Again Until the Flywheel is Loose and Can be Removed from the Crankshaft.
**Note the Key that Aligns the Flywheel to the Crankshaft.**
>>This Key is Most Likely Sheared or Bent and Causing the Plug to Fire Slightly Out of Time and Causing a Compression Lock. There is Not Enough Compression to Kick Back But Enough to Cause the Engine to Seem to Have High Compression or it May Seem to have Low Compression and Not Backfire at All.
>>**Some of the Newer Units have the Flywheel Key as a Part of the Flywheel and the Complete Flywheel has to be Replaced.**
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy.

When the engine stalled it is because it hade sheared of the key set on your fly wheel I would recommend that you take it apart and check your key I bet that is it. You maybe getting spark but it is not enough.

Poulan self propelled 22in blade hit a rock broke tip of blade starts then stalls

Did you bend the crankshaft. To check this out remove spark plug wire and tip mower on it's side and turn blade by hand and watch the shaft the blade is fastened on to. There should be no wiggle motion what so ever and if there is it may be bent causing the engine to not operate properly.

I need to repalce my blades and i have the model number but cannot find the blades online.

Your Poulan riding mower was made by American Yard Products. For the AYP 38" mower, you have 2 options for blades. 1. #131322 heavy duty blade 2. #193957 mulching blade. You should be able to order these thru also try
Good luck!

I have a Poulan Pro push mower with a 550 series Brigss and Straton. It's never cut grass well, but that aside, the engine runs like ****. My son usually is the one using it. I've removed the fuel tank...

As far as running poorly. You should check the quality of your fuel and make sure your fuel can hasnt collected water. This happens a lot with todays fuels. If you arent sure. Dump the fuel into a vehicle and let the can dry out completely and buy fresh alcohol-free gas. Also dump the fuel from the mower.
Make sure the air filter isnt over oiled. You can do this by removing it and squeezing out any excess oil.

This mower should never have been fitted with a mulching blade.
The engine is too small. It would probably cut grass better if it were a bagger but then it would be way harder to push.

The mower has a collar that holds the blade on the keyed shaft.
If it hit something hard enough it could sheer this key. But then the mower wouldnt cut grass at all.

You should make sure your blade isnt on backwards. Sometimes they get assembled by someone who forgets the blades go on either way. Some manufacturers actually put edges on both sides to take advantage of this fact.

With your spark plug wire off of the spark plug tip the mower up and look at the blade. Do you see the beveled edge facing away from the chute opening? If so you should remove the blade and turn it over.

Good luck and be careful.

My sst25 starts hard and stalls...seems to be sensitive to engine position before stalling...stalls when throttle is opened and when just runnung

Had the same problem with my SST25 and after looking further, noticed something rattling around in the fuel tank. The fuel filter had fallen off of the small fuel line (actually the small fuel line had broken). Removed filter from tank and small piece of broken line from filter connector, and re-connected to small fuel line.

My Poulan Pro 32 cc high output engine (with either the small chain saw or weed eater attachment) is relatively easy to start but after a few minutes it stalls out. Restarts easy but continues to stall out...

hey its broblably a clogged up carburetor which is not letting your engine **** up gas from the main fuel line. my advice is to clean all the filters and passage ways inside the carburetor. Also you may have to replace the diaphram in the carb a diaphram is a thin piece of material that basically pumps the gas into the engine also with the help of the compresiion of the engine sucking it in

How do i attach the leaf mulcher

I would not use any Ryobi leaf blower to vacuum and mulch up leaves. If you vacuum up a acorn or small rock, it hits the impeller, which is plastic, and knocks one of the fins off. Then you will have to have the unit repaired and they are not cheap.
Good Day.

How do i change the blower element on the g250 to the vacuum? thanks

I would advise not using it to vacuum with. The impeller/fan is made of plastic and when an acorn or small piece of limb hits the impeller, it will break off the impeller blades. You would then have to replace the impeller because the unit would be off balance and vibrate like crazy.
