HP PSC 2355 paper jam

Recently, I have been having the same problem crop up each time I try to print/copy anything on my PSP 2355. The machine pulls in a sheet of paper on request but instead of printing in normal manner, but instead of stopping as if to print at top/beginning of sheet, the sheet continues about half way through the machine, then stops. Error message 'Paper jam. Press OK to continue.' appears but there is no jam. Removing sheet of paper & returning it to tray doesn't help; same thing happens each time.

I have the same problem..andI tried checking and cleaning the rollers on the back of the cover..and the same error paper jam' comes up half way through..then when I press OK the paper goes through and the whole process repeat until I cancel.

Some people says it may be dust on the 'sticky' feed roller or maybe 'sensor' ..if so, they didn't tell me what to do..all they suggest is buy a new printer! Can you offer more help, please? Thanks

Tried cleaning feed-rollers. Doesn't help. I also think it must be a broken paper-sensor. No HP spare parts can be bought it seems ?

  • Dave_Herts May 26, 2008

I was given one of these, as it has this exact fault. I have cleaned all the rollers, checked the back door etc, and the fault still remains. Has anyone else managed to find a fix?

the roller for the paper feed is out of he printer i want to know whee to put it back

  • Sukki Nov 06, 2008

I do have the same problem... but I believe it is as someone else already stated ... there is a small plastic piece that is VERY easy to break off, and it is causing the paper to go through unevenly and giving the error. I can hear something (small loose) rattling when I jiggle it even slightly. The parts are just not durable enough. One misfeed that is a little off-center, and it's no good any longer.

    paper jam

yup - the same little plastic latch t at the left of the print heads (right of the paper rollers) was broken off - should be fine when reattached, just got to find a way of repairing that'll cope with the use..

I had the same problem. When I inspected the printer inside I detected that on the right sight of the metal thing that's guide te cartridge holder some plactic piece had broken.

When I glued it, everything went OK for a couple of minutes. Because of the presure on that plastic nock it broken again and the same error appeared on the screen.

These printers always wind up jamming/stalling if the back door is the tiniest bit off. Take off the back door and reapply it, even though it looks OK. See if this is of any help: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=421997&lang=en&docname=c00265823

Try this for the HP 2355
empty the paper tray
print something
You will get "Out of Paper" error
press OK
insert a blank sheet within about 3 seconds
It will pull in the sheet and print

the only thing that can be done is to go to your printers and faxes folder and looking for your HP printer icon, right click on it and select uninstal, switch off and remove printer from the usb port Next go to add/remove programmes and look for any HP printer software listing and uninstall it and restart the pc. If you have the installation cd that came with the printer reinstall the driver and when prompted reconnect the printer to a usb port preferebly a different one than before if you have spare and continue. reset the HP printer to the default printer if not already been prompted to do so by the software and try again printing, if the result is the same the printer itself is faulty and requires servicing or replacing

I keep getting the message cartridge jam on my hp psc 2355. A paper jam was pulled out of the front so I know this is the cause but how do I fix it please?

It's not saying carTridge jam, it's saying CARRIAGE jam. Something is stuck under the heads.
unplug the power from the unit, and try to manually move the heads off to the left side, checking for paper under the head as you move it over.
Check the head docking area on the right as well.
Plug the unit back in and everything should be fine once everything is cleaned out.
