Question about Dishwashers
You have not included your model # with your question so i can only give you general things to try/replace when a dishwasher will not turn off.
1. The Timer or cylce selector for your dishwasher is defective - not turning off the pump when the cycle is over.
2. (most likely) Leak detect solonoid tripped or failed - There is a tray beneath the washer which catches any leaks. There is a float-switch in the tray which runs the pump continuously to empty the machine if a leak is detected.
3. the float is stuck in the "over filled" position or possible a bad float switch, if the float is stuck in the up or full position, the d/w will not fill with water and the drain motor will often run all the time.
For a more specific answer - you will need to use the "continue with this expert" option and reply with the Model Number and the 9-digit Product Number Code (PNC).
These can be found on the rating plate of your appliance.
