Simple enough if you are handy. And if you are knowledgable enough working with 220 volts.
Be carefull. Probably the hardest part will be removing the old fan blade from the motor shaft. they like to rust themselves on.
Good luck....

My carrier condenser fan has stopped running.can i just pour water over the coil and use the condenser untile the repairman gets here on friday

Messy - why not just hook up a regular fan and hook it up to the power line that ordinarily powers the condenser fan.and have it do the blowing until the repair person comes out on Friday. The ideal fan is one of those old floor fans that used to blow air in a 360 direction.

My 1.5 carrier with remote stops most of the time , indicating fr. Why is it like that .? I have to unplug it again to make it work

This PDF explains that its a freeze protection safety. Check air filter or freon leak(their words).
So check filter, and also the coil behind the filter may be dirty. Or it may be the fan blade is dirty. Something making the sensor feel a "too cold" temp. And as always it may have a freon leak.

Why is one 30 AMP fuse pair blowing on Carrier Tech 2000 SS AC Unit?

Pull off one of the wires to the fan. If it still blows a fuse the compressor is shorted. If not replace the fan motor.

Hi!!

Replace motor fan and capacitor, it is a very simple task. Turn breaker OFF. Then all you have to do is remove about four screws from the top grill, about four more that fasten the motor fan assembly, unplugg electrical connectors and label them and install the new one and switch fan blades.

No special knowledge is required to perform this job. Cost: about $140 +-.

On the other hand, you call a HVAC technician, they supply the motor and capacitor, otherwise they won't give you warranty. Cost $300+. Look on the Yellow Pages for one in your neighborhood.

Carrier wires are as follow Red black green whiteyellow. R common Black ground Y cool O or orange Reverse valve G fan W heat. The white on the Air handler depending on your electric backup heat has two wires together connected to white. Orange connects to orange on the condenser. Unless you have terminal board the everything is marked. Ruty

1985 carrier unit stopped. all fans spin freely.

Trace wiring out from fan motor back to relay or contactor. On the relay or contactor check with a volt meter and see if you have power to the fan motor. If you don't, you need to check the coil on the relay or contactor and see if you have power on the coil.(24V,120V,230V whatever is marked on the name plate). If there is then replace relay or contactor. if there isn't the control circuit is probably open and it is likely the high pressure control. You will need to locate this and reset it, if it is a manual reset, or it is possible there is another problem

Fan not running properly

Probably need a new fan motor, sounds like it is overheating. This can happen if the bearings are too tight. Not something you can fix just replace. Need an amp meter to check the amp draw on the motor
