I have an acer travelmate 2350. it was working all right enicially. but after some time, it would not boot whent i start the system. but now it does not boot at all. i thought the problem was with the RAM, so i replaced it. but this has made no change.
in cases where i keep trying till it boots is say missen OS, and when i try installing the OS from the factory CD that came with the Laptop, it stops installing after some time. and won't start at all. Please help. what should i do. Has Acer any known problem with the vendor? mail me soon. thanks.

Re: Acer Travelmate 2350
If your cdrom stops installing the operating system, then either the processor is damaged or the hard drive is faulty, as initially the installation files have to be installed to run the main O.S installation

Reboot. It might ask you to do a reactivation, or not. Please recheck if your USB ports still work. If not, restart your machine, hit F8 continously until you get many options - choose the option "Safe mode" and press Enter. Check if it picks up USB in this Safe mode.
What you can also try, is that you have 3 different USB 2.0 ports on your machine. Try each one separately and see if one of them works. I would also recommend to see if the USB device you are trying to use is actually functional.
I have seen this on several ACER Laptops. It is always the Motherboard. Contact Acer repairs and order a new motherboard. IT will likely be about $200ish dollars. Then follow one of the guides on the web for taking your laptop apart and replace the board.
Do u know to use Soldering iron...if u know..remove the proccessor from socket then de solder the BIOS batterry and short that two terminals on mother board without connecting the power adapter and battery...do it and re solder the bios battery..this procedure will help u to recover from ur problem..if u dont know then do it with any technician.
it could be the sensors are damaged under the keys, but hopefully its just the driver.
Right click on my computer icon and click properties and then the hardware tab, then device manager and look down the list for keyboard.
Click the + sign and then right click on your keyboard under that and select uninstal.
Restart the notebook and it will reinstall itself and hopfully work as it should do, if not then the keyboard itself is damaged in some way.
