Tremendous Rumble when using my new turntable

I'm trying to use a new Sony PS-LX250H turntable with my Sony FM         Stereo FM-AM receiver. It is Model STR-DE505,STR-DE405, STR-D450Z, or STR-D350Z. Because it is installed in a cabinet, I cannot remove it to find the specific model number. In attempting to play a record, I only get a very loud rumble. The turntable seems to be microphonic insamuch as touching it makes a sound through the speakers of my system. I see nothing in the owner's manual about connecting a ground between the amplifier and the turntable. Where should the ground be connected? As I understand it, the turntable has a built-in pre-amp. Can this be the problem? If it is, how do I bypass this built-in pre-amp? Please help.

Its more like your turntable needs to be isolated from surrounding interference? try putting foam or dense rubber under the feet and make sure its not anywhere near a speaker as this wil cause immense rumble problems? it may be your carridge on this new deck is way more sensitive than your previos set up and therefore needs isolation for the best results?

many decks have pre amps or need preamps. hence the reason why you have distorted sound i would guess. you need the opposite of what you used. What record deck did you try?

Need a new stylus for my turntable SONY PS-LX250H and cannot seemed to find a new one. where can I get a new one at.

Assuming it is the original ATN-3600 cartridge, a simple web search for "sony ps-lx250h replacement stylus" or "atn3600 stylus" locates some.

If the cartridge is something different you should search for that model's stylus, not one for the TT itself.

I have a PS-LX250H turntable. I connect it to a stereo receiver. I have actually tried 2 different receivers and can't get any decent volume from using the turntable. Even with the volume turned all...

Have you tried testing it on something else, I guess my thought it possibly it the needle. In other words are you pretty sure your needle is working. I have had the problem years ago with the needle not registering. And next step, of course you make sure it plugs into the audio out put of the receiver. And third try plugging in , if you have it, another device to make sure your out put of receiver is working, if it does then most likely it is your needle. I really hope this helps some, thank mike

These are the two that I use the most when replacing needles. www.lpgear.com and www.needlefinder.net. The latter one has an e-mail address and they're pretty quick to get back to you.

Sony Belt Drive Turntable Platen speed

Check for grease on the platter or anywhere in the mechanism. Sometimes somebody has messed around with the speed preset, there might be two. You could try adjusting them. Sometimes they are found on the underside of the turntable, covered up, or they will be on the PC board of the deck.

I haven't gotten the answer yet, but a local stereo store pointed me in the right direction. Thanks anyway.
