Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Won't Copy - just "Warming Up" message

I have had this machine for several years, and I have always used it as my main copier (home office).
Starting today, I can not make copies from the glass plate or the topfeeder. When I push copy button, the machine makes the usual noises like it is getting ready to copy, but then it just stops; and the display reads "Warming Up". It will sit like this as long as I leave it alone. If I push "Cancel" button, it says "Copy Cancelled"; then if I press "Print" again, it says "Busy"
Thanks in advance for your help.
(I had just replaced both cartridges a few days ago with fresh HP cartridges - and went through a whole "align the cartridges" dance with it.)

My printers display will not show usual message for printing. Do I need to invest in another printer or can I get this one fixed?

A lot depends on the make, model and age Susanne? If it is a 6 year old Epson Stylus at home, then yes, if it is a Rank Zerox network printer in your office, then no.

First thing is to always disconnect from the mains supply for 10 minutes and plug back in. Try removing cartridges and reinstalling them. These actions will often reset electronics.

HP Laserjet 3330 Multifunction monochrome printer, copier, scan and fax. This machine will warm up, and after it reads "scanner lamp warming", the scanner lite lights up, the carriage moves back and forth,...

This type of problem is usually caused by dirty mirrors in the scanner. After a few years of use the mirrors and lenses in the unit will get a fine coating of dust particles on them. The dust interferes with the scanner initializing the optics. When this happens the unit displays the Scanner warming up message on the screen and keeps trying to move the scanner assembly to get a good reading from the pickup. To solve the problem you will need to disassemble the scanner portion and clean all of the mirrors with window cleaner and a soft cloth or q-tip. To get dis-assembly guides just do a google search for the 'scanner warming up' error.

I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.

In the printer driver, set the copy count to 4 or look at the page setup from the application you are using to see if you can set the copy count there;.

Permanent warming up message

When you replace a power supply for this machine, it needs to be the correct power supply for this model. If you have the old one, check to make sure the right power supply was ordered for this specific model.
Because I cannot see the display, and we only know what it is saying, the next best thing would be to see if the fuser warmed up at all. Open the side door and gently feel the fuser frame to see if it is warm at all. Do not touch the Fuser roll; it is hot even to the slightest touch.
If it is not hot, make sure all the plugs were correctly plugged into the power supply.
On this problem there can be other factors that can cause warming up.
First, the fuser assembly may be defective and needs replacement.
Second the main board may be gone out.
And last if the machine has memory chips in the back, unplug the machine, remove the small cover from the back and unplug the simms chips and reseat them. Plug in the machine, then power it on.
See if the machine will go to a ready.
If not, possibly the fuser, or main board, or both. If the main board or(and) the fuser assembly is replaced,

If all else fails, Place a Xerox Service Call on the machine before it gets too expensive in troubleshooting the problem with purchased parts.
