what is the meaning of won't boot. is your laptop powering on or not. did you see any leds lighting up.
if leds are lighting up then it might be a incorrect ram seating or hard disk might be not connected properly.
if no leds are lighting up. then check your system with the adapter connected.
if it is turning on by adapter connected. then your battery is dead. try to replace your battery.
if you have done all of this. just reset the bios. WARNING: if you don't have any knowledge of opening a laptop, then don't do the following steps. it is your responsibility for any unnecessary damage.
just open the back cover and reset the bios settings by removing the CMOS Battery inside the laptop.
if you have done this also. take your laptop to ACER service center
dear.. i think you should re-install your laptop, maybe the system has an error because some files are missing, it can be happens because of viruses, to re- format your os you can click one time restore..just turn on or reboot your laptop and quickly press f11 button on your keyboard, but no data will save when you do this, so you need to back up your data first, so you don't lose your work.. if one click restore couldn't be done, you need to prepare a bootable windows cd. to install windows from cd you need to change your boot set up, press f1 when you turn on your laptop, go to boot menu change your first boot to cd room and the second boot to hard drive, enter the windows cd, press save and exit, when appear a message "boot from cd or dvd" quickly press any key, then you can follow the instruction that appears on your screen..
If it is completely dead check the voltage at power adapter DC contacts using a multimeter.
If there is voltage within 0.5 Volts from specifications, then try starting the laptop with no internal battery. A shorted battery may cause the laptop not starting.
If battery and adapter are OK, then the problem is the DC socket in the laptop motherboard. The laptop must be taken apart and the solder joints soldered back. This is a delicate job and must be done by an experienced repairer.
In some case the whole power circuit or the main board may be faulty. Testing is done reading Ohms at DC socket solder joints on main board (or power board, depending on model).
It looks like your battery is either discharged or has a short circuit.
Plug the power AC cord in the laptop and let recharge the battery at least 3 hours before you try to start it again. If the computer boots up, enter the BIOS and check to see if you have a "battery check" oprion. If you do, start it and let it run until it is done (it may take several hours to complete). It will check the battery charge cycle.
Flip the lid open and flip the laptop (opened) and set it on a towel or something. It might take a week or a bit more to dry out. But you might be ok once it does dry out.
Although the best thing to do is to take it apart. And use a safe cleaner for circuit boards like alcohol (not wood alcohol).
Since you supplied power while it was wet. You could have have done permanent damage to the intergrated circuits. But let's hope not.
