Correct, I see the acknowledgement and get the mouse arrow on the screen but the mouse does not move the arrow, when I hook it to another computer it works fine.

You will have to use your keyboard and go into control panel, system, and device manager to make sure you have a driver installed for your mouse.  If not, you can download one from the internet

How do i reset the keyboard to be recognized by the computer...its not reading the keyboard but does read the mouse...

Some operating systems will not read a certain peripheral or device like a mouse or keyboard, camera. You may need to download a driver from the Logitech website. Make sure that when you plug in the USb reader which reads the signal from the keyboard and communicates with the PC , make sure that when you plug it in the PC will acknowledge it, " A device has been detected message will appear and it should install succesful if it says device failed or an error message appears then you have to reinstall the device driver. Try that and see what happens. Also check through the Device Manager window and see if there are any yellow flags.if you see one then you have an undetected device read by ur pc. Sometimes you have to try other keyboards but it should work for you, most keyboards install no problem.

Good luck.

In this case you should make sure the battery is good, then you can plug the receiver into a different USB port. You can also reset the mouse and receiver by pressing and releasing the button on the mouse and receiver. Thank you

I have a Microsoft Wireless Desktop Receiver 3.1 unit which works both my keyboard and Wireless Laser Mouse 5000. My mouse is not working and I've changed the batteries 3 times. Can I buy a replacement...

I have the same system. Mouse can be ordered, but not easily. Make sure mouse is not working.... i almost made tour same mistake. In my case, the mouse plug (from computer to wireless receiver) had become unhooked. All i could see is that mouse was communicating with wireless receiver but appeared to be frozen. If you can reset receiving channel, and see that receiver acknowledges presence of mouse, you may have my same problem. Also, if you can see that the laser light is working, mouse is probably ok, and batteries are good.
