Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

PC ineterferance When I switch on my PC whilst having the PS3 on in another room after a few minutes there is a major build up of interferance on the TV screen. When I switch the PC off the interference dissapears. This never used to happen and nothing has changed with either set up. I have put the PS3 on other TV's in the house with a different scart lead aswell and get the same problems. If however I use an old RF lead the picture has less interferance. Any ideas?

Thanks for the advice but i have nailed the culprit down to the PC monitor causing the interferance.

The only connection I can think of that relates to this would be the WIFI. Try truning off Wifi on the PS3.

if there is a cracked or loose fitting fuel line, air can get in and interfere with the suction needed to draw up from the tank.
Another possibility, if it has been sitting for a while: you might have built up just enough "shellacking" inside the carb to interfere with fuel delivery - might try spraying some throttle body cleaner into the air intake - let it sit for a few minutes to dissolve any build up it can get to, then spray in a bit of starter fluid and give it another try to see if the fuel will draw through the build up; if this is the problem and you can get it to run, it will dissolve any remaining buildup after a few minutes hot.

Ps3 keeps shutting off, cant remove disc

This is probably due to the orange light error. There are three things that you can do. (1) Turn the console of for 30 minutes and try to restart it again. Sometimes the PS3 will overheat and give you the orange light error. (2) Turn you console off and you modem/router. After 2-3 minutes, power both back on and see if it works. This error is sometimes caused by interference with a wireless connection. (3) Turn your console off and carefully remove the hard drive and put it back in. It is unsure what causes this to work, but sometimes it does.
If none of the three work, you will have to have a major repair done on your console.

Can't get online to play this new PS3. The console is hooked up to the TV & Belkin Wireless router. The internet, computer and phone line are in a different room and can't reach to hookup. AT&T is...

There should be no HDMI cable to router. In any situation.

Try the following:

Turn off PS3 system..
1: Reset your modem by unplugging it from the main power source.
2: After a few minutes, plug modem power back into modem. Allow all connections to configure
3: Turn on PS3 system.
4: Go to "Settings" then scroll all the way down to "Network Settings"
5: Make sure that the "internet connection" (the second menu) is "Enabled"
6: Go to "Internet Connection Settings" and choose the appropriate settings. (What's highlighted is going to be the best option, continue to hit the right button on the analog to go through the stages.)

Be sure to choose "Wireless" when configuring the settings if you are using wi fi for connectivity.

The playstation 3 does not work with certain games saying there is an error on the router (error code: 80710723) How can we open more ports on the router? Thanks for your help

Generally what happens is that progress will stall whilst you are trying to update the firmware or software/games on your PS3, causing it to be corrupted. Your console is then unable to function properly, and you are left trying to "pick up the pieces" as it were. The PS3 error 80710723 is one of these system update errors, and is often experienced by gamers who use wireless connections to update their firmware or games.

So how can you fix PS3 system update error? Here are a few steps you can take to try and fix the 80710723 error code yourself.

  1. In your System Options/Network Settings you need to go and disable a setting called "media server". Doing this has been reported to fix the PS3 system update error in a number of different cases.
  2. If you are using a wireless network connection then switch to a wired connection and attempt to update your console. Wireless connections can have interference, or fail from time to time. Therefore it is better to use a wired Internet connection where possible.
  3. As a last ditch resort you can actually download the update from the Sony website onto your PC, then load that update onto a USB stick and plug it into your PS3 and carry out the update process from there. However, it is best to actually try and fix your connection problems first.

Games disc wont eject and orange lights flashing

Here's what you need to try to repair your console
1) Turn your PS3 console off, and then leave it powered down for at least 30 minutes. After these 30 minutes are up you can turn it back on again and see if this has fixed the problem. Sometimes the orange light error can be caused by overheating, and doing this can provide a temporary fix for the problem.
2) From time to time, network connection errors can wreak havoc with your PS3. Turn off your console, then power down your modem/router, then turn both back on and try again. Interference in your wireless network connection can cause major problems with the PS3, especially if this interference occurs during an update. Try using a wired Internet connection where possible.
3) When your PS3 is turned off, remove the hard drive and then carefully re-install it. This has been reported to work in a number of cases, and is definitely worth trying. Just remember to be careful when handling the hard drive as it is a delicate piece of hardware.
If none of the above methods worked then you will need to carry out more extensive repairs on your console to get rid of the PS3 orange light of death

Just purchase ps3 with a major goal being to view

reset your network and revamp the pairing between the two units- also if your pc has blue tooth you can pair them directly usind a adhoc style private network that is more effective for streaming from your pc than using an internet capable network because there is less traffic and signal interuption. The files would stream better because not only is there no unwanted traffic but the network its self would be a dedicated link between your pc and your system. Here is a HOW TO LINK ( its for PC to PC but essentially thats all a ps3 is) Ive set mine up and am loving it! So much better than my wifi internet router setup! And Yes you can still access the internet via pc and ps3 using the wifi- and simutaniously use the adhoc bluetooth network with little to no interference or lag

Controler issues

Sounds like theres some sort of interference between your bluetooth controller and receiver. Something in your house, maybe another device may be interfering. However, there is an option you can try. Reset your settings/console to default and see if it fixes the problem. If you dont care for that idea and losing your settings you could always do this.
Shutdown your PS3, shut off the power completely too it by the rocker switch on the back. Wait a few minutes, then flip the rocker switch back to on, power up the ps3 with the bluetooth controller attached via the USB cable, once loaded, remove the controller and press the reset button on the back of the controller in, holding it for atleast 10 seconds, then release. If all goes well, the controller should resync with the ps3, you should be able to press the ps3 logo on the controller and see flashing lights followed by a solid. If this doesn't yield better connectivity, once again check your house for interference and if there is none. You may want to send it in to have the bluetooth/wireless combo board replaced. Or fix it yourself :)

My fender twin has alot of buzzing and hum noise

It is usually caused by interference somewhere in the room. A major source is art CRT such as a TV ot computer monitor. First try turning off any other electic devices in the room. Your could also see if there is a ground lift switch on the amp. If that dosen't do it, you can try lining the cavity of your guitar with tin foil. I t sounds weird but it does cut back on some interference. If none of those work, bring your amp to your local tech and have the preamp tubes tested. It may be that one of them is going bad.
