I tried to use the CD that came with the joystick on Vista, but not only can I not get it to run, I can't get the "Error: insert your Logitech Wingman CD into the CD drive." message to go away. I comes back everytime I reboot. When I put the CD back in the driver, the Logitech logo screen comes up, and it won't go away until I remove the CD. Then the Error message returns. Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm strickly an end-user, and I don't really know jack about this.

I have removed that f*cking program with hijackthis.exe
That is a general spyware remover ( Free to download, and if you are lucky it is just in a zip file, without installing extra stuff! ) , and very handy for removing unwanted programs that start up automatically. In the list you find the name of the troubling exectuable. It has 'wingman' and/or 'logitech' in its path and is called 'cheklist.exe' or something.
check this file on the list in 'Hijackthis.exe, click on the 'Fixed check' button, and the automattically startup of this program is stopped.

In order for me to help you I need more information. First what is the os you are using ? windows 98 - windows xp - vista ? also do you know what the avaliable ram is for your computer ? ( you can find this is general information under settings ) Have you looked at the manufactures recomened os , ram , and processor speed required to run your wingman ? These factors are essential in figuring out if the hardware will work on your computer.

Need instructions on where or how to go about finding a driver or installer

For your Extreme™ Digital 3D, pls click here. You would be asked for your PC's Operating System (Vista or XP or others), thereafter which file you need (Logitech Gaming software or the Wingman Clear Calibration Utility) and finally whether for 32 bit or 64 bit. Pls follow onscreen instructions.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Will adapter work for wingman?

15 pin to usb, maybe but your not going to get any support from windows or logitech. to see if it deos work plug into pc and check the device manager under sounds video and game controller should show up as logitech device. here is the driver to help with recognition. no test function, wil have to use the game to prgram buttons if available.

Wingman extreme digital 3D Logitech not working on XP

Well you can try download lgs501.exe and run it. This scans on Logitech drivers on your system and can even update them.
( Not checked though, cause I am running on Vista )
