You have to use the OSD (onscreen display) to adjust the vertical height or the horizontal width.
If you have an auto button, try letting it readjust your monitor to the default setting. If this doesn't work, find the geometry setting and adjust the hoizontal or vertical manually to correct the "narrowness".
If this doesn't help, please reply with your monitor make and model number and we'll see if we can sort it out...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

What if you change modes, does that give you access to the other settings?
Please see this link for a guide to the settings for your monitor.
Otherwise, what happens when you use the select and + and - buttons to move through the menus? Do the buttons not work or are the menus grayed out?
It may just be that time to bite the bullet and get yourself a flat screen....not such a bad alternative.
    You'll have more desk space!

HP f2105 21" LCD Monitor is going to sleep after 2 sec.

Try it on another PC so we can narrow down the problem before taking the monitor apart. Please post back. It can be the setting on your PC, vide card problem, need to narrow down first. I will be working a third one of this model tomorrow and I will upload the pictures of what inside tomorrow.

Monitor screen display stretched center but squashed/narrow edges

On the monitor itself, I am guessing this is a desktop? There are buttons for adjustment. Look for the menu button around the bezel of the monitor and press it. Scroll through the settings for the default setting and press that. Once the default settings are made for the monitor, then you can go to the graphics settings available through windows to get the resolution straightened out.

My Dell E773c Monitor's image is like a "hyperbola" wider at the top and bottom and narrower in the middle. The Horizontal adjustments do not do anything to correct the problem, Help!!!!

Try to do a factory reset (look up "recall" in the manual, or here:
If this does not help, you need to adjust the geometry settings (H/V position, H/V size, rotation, trapezoid, parallelogram, pincushion and pin balance) using the monitor's settings menu. Expect a long afternoon of fiddling around until you get a satisfactory result. A test picture for geometry settings could be of help.

Make sure your computers video setting does not exceed the monitors specification of 1152 x 864 @ 75 Hz.

Monitor setting panel on permenantly

mrjk65, If monitor still has bright, crisp images displayed on the LCD panel your monitor could be worth saving! Unplug unit from wall outlet and plug it back in! If same problem occurs then most likely problem could be a DC voltage is slightly "out of spec" or a settings panel push switch may have failed. My guess is that when STRANGE out of the BLUE things start to happen for no reason, I would suspect the "switch-mode-power-supply" to be the item at FAULT. Visit YOUTUBE for vids of "LCD monitor disassembly" , "LCD monitor repair" . You will be glad you did. Also try , , for more info. hope this helps. Bye for now. 12fixlouie.

Appearance on monitor is reddish in appearance

Depending on your monitor settings, you should putt all 3 colors on either 0 or 50. whichever is in the middle of the spectrum in your settings. However, when I've seen this problem on monitors, it's been a problem with the cable. Sometimes the cable is tilted, meaning some of the pins aren't connecting. In other cases, missing or bent pins can cause this too. So try to check out both ends of the video cable and adjust it accordingly.

Monitor displays vertically

If you mean that your screen display became narrower, then there are usually buttons on the screen to fix this, among other adjustments of the screen. the setting you're looking for has a two way arrow going horizontally through the middle of an icon representing the screen. In case i'm misunderstanding your problem, or this does not help, you can also try to let the screen rest for a while(at least 30 minutes), and turn it back on, to allow it to degauss. Good luck
