A yellow blob in the middle of the Screen

My problem is that I have a yellow blob in the middle of the screen. Is this a heat problem? Do I have to change or check the fans? or I should be using the stand at the back of this projector? thank you very much Alexandros Viaginis

Re: A yellow blob in the middle of the Screen

Recently, I had exactly the same problem on my VPl CX1 but also found the solution on the web. It is overheating. I cleaned the filter that is underneath the projector and also raised it slightly (resting on the lens cover and rear stand) for better air flow. Problem least for me.

It sounds like there are some magnetic fields around your projector. Similar to what used to be degaussing in an older tube TV. Sometimes it may be that the speakers are to close to the projector or even the earths magnetic field that may be effecting it. Try turning the projector in a different direction and see if that helps your problem.

The screen shows multiple tiny dots. (stars)

Are they sharp and defined, or 'blob'-like? If they are sharp, that would indicate a faulty DLP block (not worth repairing, unless under-warranty.) If they're more 'blob'-like, it's probably just dust in the optical block. That can usually be remedied by removing the lamp, and blowing-out the unit with an air compressor. Canned air won't do the job, as there's not enough pressure.

My bsure multimedia projecter has gone yellow. the bulb has only done 174 hours. how do i find out if it is still under warranty

It's not the problem with the lamp. The lamp either beams or not. This is the common problem with the blue LCD from tri-color (RGB) LCDs inside of the projector. It may be burnt totally if the whole screen is yellow or just partially (or covered with dust) if there is a yellow blob on the screen. Perhaps it's time to visit a technician.

Have changed the bulb because of yellow blob on the picture and it has made no difference

the yellow blob is from a fried polarizer on the blue lcd panel due to excessive dust and heat. you'll have to replace it, but hitachi doesn't sell individual optical engine parts, so you may have to replace the whole optical engine.

Greenish/Yellow spot

Sounds like a scorch mark on the polerising filter, this can only be replaced by an engineer cost around £70 ($150).
