Question about Williams 2509612 Ceramic Mid-Size Heater

1 Answer

Charmglow pilot won't light at all.

Have 2 Charmglow model 200605's only 12month old to the day. Both won't lite. Pilot won't lite with or with out match. Electric ignitors seem to work. Had someone out and cleaned entire system and said no bug or spider in pilot venturie etc... Checked and purged all lines. Spent $125 and repair guy said he thinks the control valves are bad. Does this sound correct. The guy did seem to do a good job and was very frustrated but couldn't get anything to lite.

Well I'll give him a call and ask him to perge the lines again. He is cool, he said he would come back no charge. Like I said he was completely frustrated that neither heater would work after spending a couple of hours on them. Any tips on perging the lines I can forward to him?

I would say that the lines still need to be perged. This some times takes a few times to get it going . If it has set for a long time or have run low on gas.it only takes a little air pocket to stop the works. Ask the man back. $125.00 is a lot of doe for no go. DFD

The ignitor on my Harman gas stove does not appear to be creating any spark to ignote the pilot. What is the problem and how is it fixed?

If you have an electric ignitor, then it means it needs to be replaced. The surface of an electric ignitor is much like the surface of the striker on a match book, only heavier coated. When there is no spark anymore from the electric ignitor, it means the coating that causes a spark is worn away and needs to be replaced. I just had to change the ignitor and it only cost me $20 and was a breeze...just unplugged the old one and plugged in a new one.

Our MAGIC CHEF gas range has a pilot light that comes on, the ignitor comes on, but the oven does not work heat. Any ideas would be appreciated.

First off, decide which you have, a pilot lite or an igniter coil. In electronic controlled units, when the oven won't light, as long as there's gas available, 98% of the time the igniter is bad, even though the old one may glow and seem to be very bright, it could have a small hairline crack in the ceramic, which would not allow the proper amount of electrical current to travel to the gas oven safety valve, which would then make it open and release the gas. A new igniter works almost every time.

My pilot light will not lite. Just replaced the the water heather control a year ago cause i was having the same problem. Worked fine until a few days ago.

The ignitor probably needs replacing. This seems to be a common problem with this particular model. You'll have to order one directly from Cozy.

I want to light the pilot light for the oven

How old is the stove-- for most ovens these days have electric Glow Ignitors-
Are you sure yours has a gas pilot?

If so-- there has to be a way of pushing in a 'pilot' button, to get the gas to start,
and there has to be a hole or area you can get to the gas burner/pilot, with a match, at the time you are pushing in on the Pilot lite

Let us know what you find--

Cant seem to figure out how to lite the pilot on this dryer. Please help Model # DD67980GDLAD

you don't lite it it's an electronic ignition if it's not 40 years old,the model number you sent isn't correct, this doesn't mean the ignitor is bad either, there are other parts that will stop it from liting,if it hasn't been cleaned out in a long time you can try reading out the thermal fuse and clean out the dryer so this doesn't happen again or call in a tech to help you out, good luck
