Hi,

use your O/S disc run a repair instead of the install, you get the choice to.
update O/S
update anti-virus
Run full scan
Assuming hardware good, should resolve the problem for you

How do i get my new laptop to run any operating system it keeps telling me i am a guest

It won't just run any OS depends on your memory and hard rive if they can handle look at specifications of the OS you want to install and find out what you have hardware wise in the computer you want to install on..if you have enough (ram) memory and big enough hard drive then it will let you proceed if not it will tell you it cannot install.

My acer aspire 7735z turns on but won't boot up

Hello,

your hard disk maybe corrupt.

The operating system is in the hard drive, so if it won't boot, your OS might need to be repaired or reinstalled.

You will be needing OS CD to carry out the re installation

Good luck.

My dell inspiron 1525 has a black screen with a white cursor showing

First, I want to know if you sees the Dell logo after turning on the laptop? If yes then this is no boot issue.
1. Immediately run the PSA. Make sure laptop is off. Press and hold down the Fn key, while holding down Fn key press the power button at the same time just once. Once the Dell screen loaded you can now let go of the Fn key. Check if the PSA will run short test for the LCD, RAM and HDD. When full color displays on the screen just press Y. PSA will continue. Just take note of any error code will appear on the screen such as 0141, 0142 and 0146 these are HDD failure errors which means HDD needs replacement. If the test says no errors found then proceed to step 2;
2. Try restarting the laptop once you see dell logo then keep tapping F8. Select last known good configuration. Press enter key. Just wait and check if laptop will load Windows. If not then, restart laptop keep tapping F8 try to select safe mode check if it will load Windows. If not then prepare the Windows OS disc the one came with your laptop.
3. While laptop is on insert the Windows OS disc. Restart the computer. On the Dell screen keep tapping on F12 to show boot menu. In the boot menu select CD/DVD ROM Drive. Press enter then keep tapping on space bar until it will say Windows loading files, please wait.
4. In the User Interface it will show you some options to select. Once the Install screen comes up look on the lower part select Repair Your Computer. If will ask you to do Startup Repair, please do start up repair. If fails try the System Restore. If fails then step 5;
5. If you have important files in your HDD then back up your files first. After backing up of files you can now install the Windows OS. Here is the process in installing the Windows OS. Insert the Windows OS disc, restart the laptop, keep tapping F12 on Dell screen, on boot menu select CD/DVD ROM Drive.Install the Windows OS. Just complete the installation.After the installation install the laptop drivers.

I have a dell D820 which will not switch on today, sometimes it gets to the windows XP page sometimes the initial dell page. Other times nothing at all. All worked well last night

immediately run a diagnostics for the hdd alone power on laptop then keep tapping F12 then run the diagnostics. if no errors found then.
try this. power on laptop then keep tapping on F8 to boot options then select last known good configuration. if same problem then boot in F8 then safe mode if still the same problem. use now the OS disc to do startup repair. Boot F12 then select DVD drive in booting make sure the OS media is already on the driver. then just select repair computer then make startup repair. if all fails this might end up reinstalling OS as clean installation.

Laptop restarts over and over

Is it Win XP or Vista? hit F8 and see if you can get into Safe Mode, if you can goto start , run and type msconfig, disable all and reboot.

If you cant get into to safe mode, hit F8 when computer turns on and scroll to Last Known Good Configuration. see if lets you in.
If you are running Win XP and none of that works. You will have to run your XP CD and do an OS repair, just load the XP CD at boot when setup starts hit ( Enter F8 then R) let it do its thing. Hope this helps Good Luck.

Laptop not booting

sounds like you have not only a vista issue here, but a potential boot sector virus...if it won't boot from cd, then there's a major issue with that machine.Fujitsu to the rescue, looks like to me
