Motorola V557 Black Screen

I have a motorola V557 GSM phone that I am able to turn on and use, but the screen is blank. I can also use the phone with my car's blue tooth dialing system.

I would like to copy my movies and pictures of my dog who is no longer alive from it before it dies completely. Can you help?

Thank you for getting back to me. I am able to use the phone to make and recieve calls and the numbers light up. It is just the screen that is blank. (All tones work as well.)

The kind of blue tooth system I use does not involve a headset. It is through the navigation system in my Lexus which has a keypad, phone book etc, which makes me think the blue tooth might work to transfer what I need to my computer.

Is it worth my time to try and transfer pictures/movies to my computer before giving up?

    I appreciate your help.

Hello! The blank screen issue with your V557, could be the LCD Module itself or even the connectivity of the cables inside. Usually the interference is the cables within the handset. It garbles the screen to either a black or white color and can sometimes distort the entire display. This can be a definite sign of hardware problems.

Now without a screen to see, how would you able to even use the handset? Your device is indeed an older model and the features that it offers are not vast. It has no expandable memory to store any pics or movies or music and it barely supports blue-tooth.

In my opinion, with the hardware issues u are facing are great enough to prohibit you from using blue-tooth to transfer your media.

Thanks.

Why has my screen gone blank?

If you are sure you have enough battery, try a forced reboot to confirm the phone is working by pressing and holding the power button for about 1 minute or until the phone powers back on.

My motorola v557 cell phone doesn't light up. how

Hello,

there is nothing wrong with your screen, the problem is from the flex that connects your screen to the phone's main board. This flex must have worn out that's why your screen is not displaying any picture.

The problem is common with flip and slide phones. The flex gets worn out as a result of constant opening and close of the flip or slide phone.

I would urge you to replace the flex and I am assuring you that your screen will display picture again. You might also be lucky to find out that the flex is not well fix, that is, it may have loosed contact.

If you cannot change the flex yourself, maybe you should take the phone to a local repairer within your vicinity, so that the flex can be fixed/replaced.

Good luck.

V557 screen went blank

When you power on your mobile phone, is there any light on the keypads oryou hear any sounds?

If yes, then the problem is your Flex wire tape,You will need to replace it and the only way to do that is to bring it to a service center, that is normal to all typrs of slide and flip typr cell phones
