Smsung mini DVD disk

I borrowed my sons' DVD camera to use at a family wedding, I wasn't aware the disk had to be finalised in the camera before playing on a free standing appliance, when I tried it back in the camera it shows "no disk" Have I lost everything I have done?

many thanks for that ijay, I have tried other disks in the camera and they work fine, so there isn't a problem with the camera, there is data on the disk but for some reason it is now blocked, could this be because I didn't finalise it in the camera but tried running it on my computer?

PLEASE HELP.... We just took a trip to Cancun with all our memories. I have a Panasonic mini DVD camcorder. I formated the little DVD disk and did not finalize. Did I erase everything? Is anyone smart enough for me to send my DVD to them to get back all my memories or am I just sad to loose all my vacation memories? Thanks Debbie

I have a samsung vp-dc171w mini dvd recorder. I was told at the time of purchase that the disc would replay in a dvd player but none of mine play it. Is there an adaptor or something needed for it to play...

If your using DVD-RW make sure you format it in video mode. Do your recordings then when you want play them back on a dvd player you have to finalise the disk in the camcorder first.
If you want to continue recording you will have to un finalise the disk.

How to copy from CANON DC210 DVD Camcorder to PC

Before you can transfer pictures or video from your Canon DC210 to your PC you need to finalise the disc in the camcorder.

You also need to make sure that the DVD drive on your PC is capable of reading a DVD-R, DVD-R DL or DVD-RW format as these are the only disk formats that the DC210 will handle. Not all PC DVD drives can read these formats.

To finalise the disk you must have the power adapter connected to the camera, plugged into a wall socket and turned on. Then, switch on the camera, put it into playback mode, Press 'Func.', select main menu, select 'disk operations', select 'finalise'. Don't move or shake the camera or switch it off whilst the finalising step is underway - this could cause problems.

Once finalising is complete, put the disk into the PC.

Good Luck.

Cant transfer footage from Canon DC201 onto computer (and eventually internet) Do I need specialist software to take video from DVD to computer?

You don't need specialist software to take video from DVD to computer.

One of two things has gone wrong
1. Your PC cannot read the -R DVD format, or, more likely
2. You have not finalised the disk.

You must finalise the disk in the camcorder before putting it in the PC. To finalise the disk you must have the power adapter connected to the camera, plugged into a wall socket and turned on. Then go to the main menu, select 'disk operations' and you'll see an option to finalise disk. Don't move or shake the camera whilst the finalising step is underway.

Once finalising is complete, put the disk into the PC.

Mini DvD-RW problem

You've recorded your video and you're ready to view it on a PC.

Now you need to finalise the disk before you can see it on the PC, otherwise the PC will not be able to read it.

To finalise the disk, connect your camera to the power adapter, plug the adapter into a wall socket, and switch on the wall socket, then switch on the camera.

To get to the finalise step. switch on the camera, press FUNC (on the top left side of the camera), move the joystick down to get to MENU, press SET on the joystick, move the joystick down to get to DISC OPERATIONS, then select FINALIZE, using the SET on the joystick. Finalising will now start.

Make sure you do not move the camcorder or switch off the wall adapter during finalisation - this could cause problems.
