Water overflowing in ice maker.

I have a KitchenAid Superba KSUS25... I just replaced the water shut off valve for the ice maker. It shuts off the water but not before it overflows some. I was told there's a calibration screw under the front cover of the ice maker. I see a couple of white plastic screws but I'm not sure which one controls the calibration or which way to adjust it to reduce the water amount? Can't find the original manual!

I have a Kitchen Aid under the counter Ice maker. When you power it on it cycles water and then the power button light flashes several times and powers off.

If your KitchenAid under-counter ice maker is cycling water but then powers off with the power button flashing several times, there may be a few possible causes. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check the water supply: Make sure that the water supply line is properly connected and the water is flowing to the ice maker. If the water supply is blocked or not reaching the ice maker, it may not be able to function properly.
  2. Clean the condenser coils: Dirty condenser coils can cause the ice maker to overheat and shut off. Make sure to clean the coils regularly to prevent this issue.
  3. Check the drain pump: If the drain pump is not functioning properly, the ice maker may shut off to prevent water from overflowing. Check the drain pump for any clogs or damage and replace it if necessary.
  4. Check the water inlet valve: The water inlet valve is responsible for letting water into the ice maker. If it is not functioning properly, the ice maker may shut off. Test the valve for continuity using a multimeter and replace it if necessary.
  5. Check the control board: If all other components are functioning properly, the issue may be with the control board. Test the control board for proper voltage and replace it if necessary.

If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to call a professional technician to diagnose and repair the problem with your KitchenAid under-counter ice maker.

What causes the ice cubes in my ice maker fused

Good day,
If the temperature in the freezer is good and consistent, then it is the dual water valve on the rear of the machine, that is not shutting off properly.
The system turns the water valve on for 7 seconds just before the ice maker parks waiting for the next harvest cycle.
Many times the valve will be too slow in closing or continues to dribble even though no power is being applied to it, thus causing the well of the ice maker to overfill and overflow.
Replacement of the water valve is the only solution and is a very common problem.

Water in ice maker drips

Hello,

The cause of the constant drip is the inlet valve. Since the ice-maker water doesn`t travel through the filter but directly to the ice-maker, the valve must be faulty to allow water to travel through the valve when it`s not energized.

The valve part number most common for your type of fridge (manufactured by Whirlpool) is W10247725 and retail`s around $25-$30US.

**If you decide to service this on your own remember to unplug the unit and shut off the water to the unit.**

Hope that help`s. If so please take a second to rate the solution I provided for you here at fixya.

Good luck.

Water on the ice maker doesn't shut off - drips into the ice pan

Most models of Ice makers have an automatic timer for the amount of water that is allowed to enter the Ice Maker tray. If your timer valve is going bad you need to replace it. First I would reduce the amount of water coming from its source. There should be a tapped valve under your sink, connected to your water line. You have to turn the top of the valve clock wise to reduce the amount of water the is going to the back of your refrigerator. That is where you will find the timer valve. Reducing your water flow should help reduce the volume of water being let into your Ice Maker.

Ice maker not working/ water leaking from bottom

turned out the filter had a leak. So first shut of the water valve that made the connection to the fridge then twisted the filter counter clockwise and replaced it with a new filter.
