Question about Vehicle Parts & Accessories
I went to have my remote start installed on my acura, but the installer said he could not get the engine to turn over. the ignition 1 and 2 come on and the dash lights light up but it does not crank. i have the factory alarm system installed on my car as well as this new aftermarket system i jus had put in. so i need to know if i need a remote start bypass module to get my car to start and if so what model do i look for. thanks in advance.
Generally there are two types of factory ignition key security types one creates a circuit when you put and turn the key(these generally have a chrome nipple on them which creates the contact)and the other type is an approximity type(most common)if its the approximity type you can test this by trying to start the car(with the remote) and hold the ignition key as close to the ignition barrel as possible, if this works let me know and i;ll pass on the next step.If not you may need a bypass module.please provide more details about the car and the alarm.(model etc)
