Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

I have a sign on my printer screen that reads "print cartridge" in right stall not supported. What does this mean? I have the correct black ink cartride(#96). I've unplugged the printer and restarted it. I've cleaned the cartridge contacts. Help me!

    The ink cartride is from Office Max. Should I have gotten a HP cartridge?

    I've had this ink cartridge for 6 months and it has printed very nice. I think when I went to Office Max to get a black ink refill they may have been out of HP ink cartridges. This Office Max cartridge was the only choice available. My color cartridge is a HP.

The cartridge carrier/controller (the one on right) is malfunctioning, take the cartridge out and let it sit for a moment place it back in and see if its still not working, if its not take the out and then turn the printer off and unplug for a hour. Then turn it back on, then place the cartridge back and see if the error is gone.

Do you have another cartridge to try in the slot to see if the issue is with the cartridge?

If its not gone whats the brand and model?

    I don't know about those cheap inks, can you try your old ink cartridge if you still have it? I would suggest to also try a hp cartridge if the issue started when you got this new cartridge because its most likely the problem.

This means the the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Make sure that you are using original HP cartridges.

Please see troubleshooting procedure below:
  1. Remove the color cartridge from the left stall (which has a blue latch) and refasten the latch. Leave the other cartridge in place.
  2. Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display.
    • If the LCD display reads Insert Color Cartridge in Left Stall , the color cartridge may be causing the problem. Follow the steps below:
      1. Clean the color cartridge contacts. Click here to see how.
      2. Reinsert the color cartridge into the carriage and close the blue latch.
      3. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      4. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the color cartridge.
    • If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , follow the steps below:
      1. Reinsert the color cartridge.
      2. Remove the black or photo cartridge, depending on which one is installed in the right stall. The right stall has the gray latch. Be sure to refasten the latch on the empty stall.
      3. Clean the black or photo cartridge contacts.
      4. Reinsert the black or photo cartridge.
      5. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      6. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the black or photo cartridge.

What does 'Print Cartridge in right stall not supported' mean?


It means you have a faulty or incorrect cartridge installed on the right side position. It could also mean the contacts are dirty or misaligned. Remove the cartridge, clean with rubbing alcohol and reinstall.

This is not a unknown error particularly if you are using cartridges other than the HP brand. Other people will tell you it is fine to use off brand cartridges or refilled cartridges. For myself, I have never had luck doing that - on the other hand, I have never been disappointed using the more expensive cartridges recommended by the manufacturer across several brands including Epson, Canon, Compaq and HP.

Try cleaning the contacts and ink jets. You may have to replace the cartridge. If that is the case, I would return the faulty cartridge and get a store credit.

Does not print dark enough to read. Changed toner and adjusted print darkness feature. Still does not work. Any idea what to do?


Hi

When printing, just adjust the PRINT QUALITY to PHOTO because I believe your print quality is set to TEXT. I am sure it will print move darker than before.

My C6280 printer says the black is empty but it is


Dear Sir,

Printer doesn't identify the ink accurately all these are controlled by software only.So it is showing your black cartridge is empty but trace amount of ink actually remained,by this you are getting black and white prints correctly.After the consumption of that trace amount of ink it may print black text as a greenish-brown because printing taking place only by means of color cartridges.So if you observed blurred text or greenish-brown text, now you can replace your ink cartridges.

Incorrect Cartridge Print cartridge in right stall not supported?


I changed the cartridge and it now works. I resent this though because it had been merrily printing before it decided it would stop and I have had to waste a three quarters full cartridge! I just hope the new one does not go the same way

The printer doesn't recognize the new original HP color cartridge


There is a small spring that holds the ink cartridge in the ink holder. You will see it stick out from the right hand side of the ink holder where the ink cartridge slides in. If that spring isn't being held to the ink holder by two plastic tabs, (I.E. the plastic tabs are broken) the printer will never recognize the cartridge. If the printer is still under warranty I would contact HP or an authorized repair center for HP. Both the black and color ink holder has this spring. I know of no way to repair this kind of breakage.

Are these genuine HP ink. If not try using Original ink.
If its already the original ink then check the Exp date of the ink and try cleaning the copper contacts of the ink ( not the nozzles ) of the ink and the printer

The following error message appears on the color graphics display after you insert a cartridge: Remove and Check Print Cartridges . The printer will not print. The message does not specify which cartridge has caused the error. Solution This error message indicates that the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Follow the steps below to solve the problem.

  1. Remove and then reinsert the cartridge indicated in the error message.
  2. If the error is still displayed, clean the contacts.
    1. If the error message is Error. Remove and Check Black or Photo Cartridge , the following steps may help:
    1. Remove both cartridges, lower the latches, and close the printer access door.
    2. Turn off the unit by pressing the On button on the front panel. Wait for the printer to completely shut down.
    3. Turn the printer back on by pressing the On button.
    4. When the message display reads Insert Print Cartridges , open the access door and replace the cartridges.
    1. If neither of the steps above fixed the problem, either the cartridge or the printer is faulty

    Hi,

    Just to confirm pls:
    1. the new print cartridges are original HP inks;
    2. you have remove the bright pink tape from the ink cartridges;
    3. the black is on the right side and the color is on the left side.

    You can try removing both cartridges and clean the gold colored contacts where the pink tape was. Pls do the same to the mate pins in the cartridge holder in the printer.

    Try again. If this does not be corrective, you may need to change inks again.
