Question about Sanyo DS20930 20" TV

1 Answer

Power on problem, very strange.

I just want to tell everyone first, that I am not very technically knowledgeable about televisions. I have a Sanyo 20" Flat Screen TV. I was watching my TV with no problems about 2 hours ago (from this time.) I turned it off, left for about an hour, and to my surprise, it sort of doesn't work. When I attempt to turn the TV on, it will turn on for about 3 seconds and it will shut off again. I have tried moving the TV's power to different sources a few times. It still does it. Now the strange thing is that when I attempt to turn the TV on in between unplugging and plugging it back in, I can only get three attempts to turn it on out of it. The 4th time you try to turn it on with the remote/power button, there is no response. Then I unplug it for about 3 minutes, plug it back in, and it will repeat the same thing (turning on only 3 times and turning itself off.) Like I said, I don't want to try open up my TV (cathode ray tubes can store an immense amount of electricity even when its unplugged, like a CRT computer monitor. I am no professional. I want to know if I can fix this myself or if I have to pay big bucks to get it fixed and rather just toss this one) Thank you for any help! It is appreciated!

I want to know if I can fix this myself or if I have to pay big bucks to get it fixed and rather just toss this one) as you are not tech person so you can not do it. it is not a big problem there might be problem in power supply. you need not have to big bucks.

Sanyo DS35590

It would be a little glass tube with a filament in it. To locate it you will have to take the back cover of your television off, follow the power cord up to where it connects. The fuse will be located very close to the power connection, look carefully.

Problem with sanyo tv

Check the menus in the TV. Look for a Display menu. There should be an option somewhere to turn this off. I don't know this TV personally, but it CAN be turned off.
