The computer does not boot into the operating system and displays "Operating System not found."

Hi,
For that problem, do this first check-up your bios setting.
Power on your PC laptop
, when screen popped up ( press F2, delete etc. ) to get into standard bios Setup you see there if your hardisk drive detected or not detected. if not detected try to open your Laptop PC ( need power off. open cover at the back of your laptop ) check-up your hardisk drive for loose power cable, data cable hardisk Some burn , noise hardisk sound ) if detected, your operating system corrupted. you need to Reinstall your operating system like windows xp, windows 7 or linux base operating system. try that Solution first.

Just let me know if not yet working your laptop PC.
Regard.

I have a k8u-x motherboard.. my problem is i cant install winxp in it because it doesnt detect any hardisk during the setup. All my floppy drives are damage as well as my floppies. Is there any way to...

Your trying to install windows 3.1 or 98 ? I have never seen Windows XP or newer on floppy disk is why I ask. That will not resolve your problem though. If you are sure you have the hard drive installed and connected with at least one of them set to Master, if you are installing 2, You may need to enter Bios and have it auto detect the Hard Drives in the Bios. If the Bios doesn't recognize the Hard drive or you have 2 hard drives and one isn't set to Master it won't matter what media you use you won't be able to install anything on the hard drive.

How to setup my computer to go to windows?

hi! there,
if power supply of your pc is fine, the fan is running and the light in the front of your pc is on.lets us go work about this.
first, you have to configure your cd room and hardisk in your pc,doing this at start press F2 or delete depend on your pc how cmos bios set up appear, take note on start menu left bottom corner
then on cmos feature check your hardisk if it was configure,if not set to auto let your system find it out for you.if there's your hardisk esc. then go to bios set up,on boot sequence
ist priority cd room
2nd hardisk
3rd floopy
etc...

press F10 save and exit.upon restart open cd room insert your cd installer e.g..xp,linux,vista
your pc will reboot automatically and configuration set up will initialize, just wait take coffe break
then follow what ever the installer want to do
there are question that you will anwer, if the windows detect that you have previous OS in your system remove, there are some instructions to follow, its good to have one OS is operating on your system, then follow some instruction again on on your new setting,do not selec on quick format its better on normal only.so until you finish installing just follow properly.this time i'll take also my coffe break, cheers and have a nice day, don't forget to rate me after you finish. thank's

How do i format the seagate 5400 160 gig hard drive?

Configuring the BIOS
After completing the drive installation, restart your computer. Your computer
may automatically detect your new drive. If your computer does not
automatically detect your new drive, follow the steps below.
1. Restart your computer. While the computer restarts, run the system
setup program (sometimes called BIOS or CMOS setup). This is usually
done by pressing a special key, such as DELETE, ESC, or F1 during
the startup process.
2. Within the system setup program, instruct the system to auto detect
your new drive.
3. Save the settings and exit the setup program.
When your computer restarts, it should recognize your new drive.

Hardisk not detect.

First Make sure the hard drive power connector and ribbon cable are connected.
Swap the hard drive.
if id doesnt wrk then..
Go to the BIOS setup, and under the Integrated Peripherals menu, make sure that ‘On Board HDC’ is enabled for both Primary and Secondary channels. Also ensure that all drive types are set to AUTO under the Standard CMOS Setting. If you are not comfortable with changing the BIOS values, just reset the BIOS to factory defaults.
Hope this helps
keep me updated
Thanks for using Fixya

I have a new 8ogb sataII Exelstor hardisk which i

Windows XP does -not- have native SATA support and therefore will not recognize a SATA drive without first installing 3rd party drivers.
To go around this problem without installing drivers check your BIOS. There might be something in there where the bios will emulate an IDE controller.

If not, you'll need a floppy and the sata drivers. A flash drive will also do if the motherboard bios supports legacy USB. To find the drivers, simply go to the motherboards manufacturers website.

Windows can't detect any hard drive

Hello.
Have you check if every thing is ok in the setup ?
If you have the documentation of your Hard drive, set the HDD
manually( cilinders, heads, etc), i don't know the difference between 4M and 3M models, but may be significant.
The battery wont have any effect in the BIOS, you should thanks god for that, because if you could erase what is in the BIOS you could say good bye to your PC.
In order to recognize many new devices the BIOS manufacturer make software updates you can download ( if available)from they website an install it ( i don't recommend you to do that unless you have no other option).
The battery is only for the CMOS, a memory that keeps your setup configuration when you turn off your PC.

- Most Probable cause of that problem and possible solution:

You hard drive must be partitioned and properly formated.

You will have to start you computer using a 3 1/2 floppy disk or bootable CD with MS-DOS.
Note: go to SETUP and set the right drive to boot from first( A: in case of floppy, CD in case of CD), save and exit
Make sure the disk have some commands you will need, FORMAT among them.
I suggest you look for totorials about partitioning a hard drive.
Is no big deal but you have to know what you are doing.
Create a partition using FDISK command and activate it
then format the drive.
Now it is ready to be recognized for Windows.
In the process of windows installation( only XP), right before it start it will ask if you wish to format de Drive, answer yes( the fast one) and choose NTFS( a more efficient Partition for windows XP.

I hope this help you.
Good luck
