Can I schedule access to my network for devices in my household?

Say from 7:00am to 10:00pm? Have looked in setup but unable to find a solution

Thanks in advance

  • braesidefarm May 07, 2009

Nothing in the firewall settings about scheduling access to the internet through our network. (Parental Controls) Need to allow acces to the net from 7am to 10pm only.

How do I access a mobile hotspot option for my straight talk zte z963vl android version 5.1.1? My phone does not have the option in my settings for mobile hotspot and tethering..

It should be there...Goto Settings - Wireless & Network - Tethering & Portable Hotspots .
First though activate the Wifi then the Tethering option as described above.
Switch on any device you want to tether to and look for your device name (or you can setup a password from same list) and continue to tether.
Be advised though, some Network Operators will tell you that it's unable to tether or warn you against it. But I've had this a few times and I still tether what I like.
also be advised that if you on capped data plan, keep an eye on your data limits.
Good luck.

Where can I get an I.p. address for my tablet . Im not sure what happened , I put it back to factory settings and after that there was no ip address. Please help?

What most likely happened is when you factory reset the device, the wireless setup that you use to connect to the Internet was reset as well. You need to go into the wireless setup area and look for networks to connect to. The one that you use regularly (assuming you are where you use the device), should be among those listed. You then tell the device to connect to the network. This is where the device will ask you for the network password if it is a secure network (and most are). Once you input the password, then the network router will assign an IP address to the device and connect it to the network. After that you can access the Internet normally. If you don't know or forgot the network password, someone in the household (or business) should be able to provide it so long as you are authorized to connect.

Connection of 6 computers to use one printer

A network printer can have many more connections. Most people have a wireless router that allow the whole household to use. The printer must have a unique IP address that was assigned by the router. From there the computer simply pints to that resource (IP via network cable) once it has been installed on each computer or device. Think of like a office setup.
Windows also allows for attached printers to be shared if the printer is not networked directly to the router (USB connected to PC), but the network setup still applies to the computers.

How to delete and program in speed numbers for fax

Create speed dial entries for fax numbers that you use frequently. The number of speed dial entries you can set up depends on the HP device. For more information, see the specifications for the HP device.
expanded.gifTo manually create a speed dial entry 1 In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Fax Settings and Setup, and then click Fax Speed Dial Settings. 2 Click New Entry. 3 In the Speed Dial Settings - New Entry dialog box, type a name and fax number, and then click OK. 4 In the Speed Dial Settings dialog box, click Save. The entry is stored on the HP device.
Note If you are creating a speed dial entry for a networked HP device and you are unable to save the entry, another user on the network might have accessed the same speed dial. Wait a few minutes and try to save the entry again. expanded.gifTo create a speed dial entry from the Address Book 1 In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Fax Settings and Setup, and then click Fax Speed Dial Settings. 2 Under Address Book, click Select From. 3 In the Address Book dialog box, select one or more names, and then click OK. 4 In the Speed Dial Settings dialog box, click Save. My dell laptop (inspiron 1000)can't wielessly connect with my new hp printer (6380. Ran the cd and laptop shows : photosmart c6300 series sn my873181qf0544 ip address 192.168.1.101 but when I...

Had the same problem on my Dell Latitude running WinXP SP2, installing a HP6380.

I noticed the installer was trying to access the other network printers I had setup (the status of these printers turned into "unable to connect" in Control Panel.) These printers are on the company's network and were not accessible from the home network I was on at the moment of installation.

I then started a VPN connection to the company's network, so that the printers were all accessible. The "add device" part of the insallation then went through and the printer was setup successfully.

Im try to set up an wireless connection but it always seams to have a problem, one of them is that the sistem says that i have an ip comflict! what can i do?

If your getting that message on your computer that means the IP address that your computer acquied from your serverrouter has a duplicate in the network. The very first thing that you need to check is whethere your computer has a an IP address that is manually assigned to it, to check this just go to Network Connections under Control Panel(assuming your computer runs on Windows XP). Right click on the Wireless Connection icon and go to properties, under Local Area Network Properties you will find several check marks under This device uses the following; Client for Microsoft, File and Printer Sharing, QoS Packet Scheduler etc... Look for and highlight Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and click Properties, under the TCP/IP Properties you have 2 option for both IP and DNS server. Make sure both is set to obtain. If your still getting the same message Right click on Wireless Connection and choose repair so tha your router/server will provide a new unique IP address, wel that will usually resolve the IP address conflict on your computer.
