Question about Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop

I guess you have given up, my solution now is to restorue to factory settings. Mty posting opf APril 6th went unanswered. I wanted to send out one more time to see if there is anything else I may try before restoring to factory settings. thank you for all of your time and advice it was and is very much appreciated.     I had been working with DJ Gray from Fix ya for weeks, I got very far, confiming my ISP address and all were working as he was able to ping my server and it responded. He had me download the latest firefox wizard, in effort ot tell my pc how to get online.

    I cannot get online, however my son using the same connection can connect to Xbox live online . Also belfore i deleted the program we were able to click on Limewire and once the program was opened we could get online. however we could not get online other than that..http://www.fixya.com/support/t1735399-un...



    the above link is the ongoing dialoge between dj gray and I on fix ya, the ongoing lasted for weeks, my last posting was APril 6th.



    I am afraid I may have to restore to factory settings.

    A new problem: I am trying to do a restore to manufactuer settings by hitting Control F3 on my Dell but it will not give me that options, can someone walk me through step by step. Perhaps I am missing something when I get to the Boot options.



    it will only let me go as far back as certian bolded dates on a clalendar that appears. If you read the chain above I did a restore to the date of Janaury 1 and it did not work. Currently the system will only permit me to go as far back as Feb 3, so I know this will be useless, but it states that is the the "last date when all settings were working or functioning properly.



    How can I force the factory settings for a complte restore back to the beginning.



    Also I do nto have the cd-rom from my pc when I purchased it, any tips when resotring this time?

    I'm not sure what your problem was to begin with, but if you give a few details and include your operating system and the exact error messages you are getting or the symptoms, I'd be happy to try to help...

    Go into Device Manger from control panel and see if there any devices under Network Adapters with a yellow triangle

    Whats the exact model of your modem - you may be able to run a test to see if it can connect to the internet itself regardless of Windows?

    How do you want to restore to factory settings?

    Do you have the original Hard Drive?

    If so, you should be able to boot into a Recovery Partition.



    To access that partition, watch for a screen as the computer boots up for a line indicating a key to press to "Enter recovery" or "Recover Windows" or "Repair Windows" or "Recover the system" or anything similar. When you see that screen, press that key.


    Sometimes its Shift + F11 or F10.



    Please clarify the issue if the above doesn't help.

Kristine, you are absolutely correct, you just can't beat a fresh install of the operating system and all updated drivers. Your registry will be perfect, and no bad guys (viruses and the like) will be hanging around. A clean format of the hard drive removes everything.
Here are some tips: open your Device manager and write down the model # and manufacturer of your hardware, like CD/DVD, sound card, video card, modem, and that sort of thing. It will aid you when you choose the correct drivers on the dell site. Use the recommended drivers unless you feel comfortable enough to select the optional.
On boot up, the first time you see writing appear in the top right corner, hit F2 to get into setup. Once in look for Boot Priorities and make the CD-rom start ahead of the Hard drive, then put your system's operating system disc (winxp/vista) and hit anykey
to boot from CD. follow the directions from there out, the pick out the latest drivers install and viola...you have a brand new machine again...Of course you have to reload your old programs

    Kristine...this will do it for you, I am sure...contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider), Verizon, Comcast, whoever, their techs can and will take over your machine see what is going on and be able to get you back on line...Hey you are paying for the service, you should get it.
    I do hope you have an excellent antivirus program and updated, some of the things you mentioned could cause real problems.
    I just now saw the nature of your problem...forgive me for the clean it out and clean it up...(once a year is good)

Yes Hettie. That would be 6th April 1956. Usually the tuners will write what they did. The third entry will be fairly close. The first one is usually the date it left the factory, and the second is the first tune at the new owner, or in the shop if it is a display piece. The third would then be in its new home.

Better to keep followups in the original thread. That way all the people who have responded get a notification that you have responded back. Making a new post is hit and miss that I see it. You were lucky I did :>)

I had *** on the 6th of april and when i went for a scan on 5th of june they said i was 10 weeks pregnant but by my calculations that only makes me 8 weeks?


My wife has the same problem. We found out that the doctors measurements and what you might find can be different. The doctors will base their numbers on data that most fits the general public, despite other more accurate data. It's nothing to be worried about.
