Re: internal antenna

It sounds like the TV justs has a insufficient internal antenna system. If you can put an external antenna on this sytem do so just to test it.

We have a prizmo tv and I want to get just local channels. bought a antenna. then what?

You need to look for the settings for the input type. It is usually cable or antenna (digital). Switch to antenna.
Then you need to look for 'auto find' channels, so it can scan to locate and set the channels in your area.

Your TV must have an internal digital TV tuner (ATSC) in order to get new digital broadcasts.

I just purchased an indoor antenna for to view local stations. Can i use an indoor antenna for my olevia 232-t11 lcd-hdtv? If I can, what steps do I need to follow?

Yes you can use an indoor antenna. Just make sure it is an HD antenna to get the digital channels clearly. You will have to do a scan to pick up local channels. In the TV menu, it will ask you if you want to scan for "cable" channels or "antenna" channels. You want to choose antenna.

I am moving tomorrow and won't be able to afford cable or satellite for awhile. I have a newer model Sanyo tv. Will I need a converter box or can I hook an antenna directly into the tv to pick u

If your TV has the screw-on coaxial cable connection on the back, then you will not need a converter box. You can attach an internal or external antenna and have your TV scan for digital channels. The converter boxes are mostly for old CRT TVs with analog tuners or newer home theater "monitor" TVs which are being produced without built in tuners.

HDTV not picking up local channels

Look to see in menu if set is set to Air or Catv (cable) if on cable anything is possible 2-13 but above that no or almost no reception.

TV won't pick up channels 7-13

These are what once were VHF channels and are still mostly assigned to local stations.
You didn't mention the source for your received signals, if antenna, cable or satellite and it does make a difference as to the possible source of the problem.
If you are receiving via antenna, then the problem is within the set itself. If from one of the other two sources requiring a 'box,' then the problem is likely within the cable or satellite box that is between your incoming signal and the set.

I have a RCA LCD TV model no. RLC3708A and when hooking it up when I took it out of box, I got to

I think you are confusing the channel on the tv and the channel of the cable company that is not something that you can pick up with the scan tv, scan tv is good for picking up local channel meaning air channel that we get with a antenna only not the cable chanel

Really? cool... so I have a Panasonic HDTV 720p... just moved, no cable, but I have a TV antenna. Amplified indoor antenna. GE brand model 24700. I powered and connected the coaxial cable between the tv...

You need to go into on screen TV tuner/channel scanning setup page and change the signal source from CABLE to ANTENNA so it will scan again to pick up off the air signals. Please read the TV user manual for more details.
What is the model number of the TV?

TV is not responding, turns on and off and does not show picture nor sound, does not move from channel 22-2

Couple of things.
  • Are you on an antenna or cable/sat box?
  • If you are on an antenna, the sub-channel of a local DTV station (22-2) was the only thing the digital receiver was able to pickup on the initial scan of channels.
  • If you are on an antenna, rescan for available channels.
  • If you are on a cable/sat box, and scanned for channels you probably picked up a like channel that is in the same bandwidth as 22-2. Probably not even a channel.
  • If you have a cable or satellite box, hook it up to one of the VIDEO channels using either a Composite AV cable (Yellow/Red/White) or a Component A/V Cable (RED/GREEN/BLUE with RED/WHITE for audio. If you are lucky enough to have HDMI for your source, use that.
  • Going forward, all of your changing channels will be from the SOURCE.

Sharp digital tv cannot receive digital signal

This television would benefit from an hdtv indoor outdoor amplified antenna not obstructed by trees, aluminum, bricks, and etc. Make sure the signal type is air and not cable and complete a channel scan during primetime tv hours after connecting to this antenna. Buy a large one that you can mount to the wall usually in a large flat box on the shelf in the store. Philips has one sold at Walmart.

I can't get all the antenna channels

I do not know if your in the USA or a international country or what have you. But part of the reason why older tv's still get a RF signal is because of there older tuner inside. Now I know the USA went digital last year and in saying that this could be you problem but lets not put the horse in frount of the wagon here. You might want a try a better antenna first to see if the inporves things. But most tv's use UHF/VHF/IRC/HRC and the older ones just use UHF/VHF and only can pick up channnels with those tech. But your newer ones block out low frequencies UHF/VHF is its harder to get a signal. I would say try a better antenna or you might bne in a digtial area where you need a little converter box.

please be considerate and rate with the thumbs to your top right before you close the window, alos if you will leave me some feedback.
