I pass by a police car and i don't see any signal on my radar is always on mode "C" of city or "H" for hwy is like don't read any signal for a police or etc car signal the radar is on is conected correct.
I see a rescue with the siren on and my radar do nothing no sound nothing and is always on.
What i have to do to get any signal on my radar and is new just buy yestarday
Its this radar can detect any police car arround whit out siren on, so i know that i have a police car 1 block away from me

Re: Cobra radar detector
Police usually do not leave their radar guns turned on all of the time. Indeed, most police officers prefer to use the "instant-on" technique to nab speeders. Instant-on works by leaving the radar gun in standby mode (no radar emissions) and then releasing a trigger button to instantly turn on the radar gun to measure a vehicle's speed.
You can check to see if your radar detector is detecting radar by putting it in Highway mode and then driving to a shopping center or other businesss location which has microwave radar automatic door openers. You should get either X band or K band alerts for these microwave automatic door openers. If you do not get any alerts for these door openers, and after having checked a few other locations which have microwave automatic door openers, then this would indicate that your radar detector is defective.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

Mute shuts off sound warning of radar, The left top button is for dimming the display, the right top button is for city or highway selection, the C light comes on in CITY mode to reduce microwave interference X/K and Ka are radar indicators. L is for laser. The bars at the bottom show the strength of the signal. VS is a radar detection detector or warning of an emergency vehicle.
Radar detectors are similar to radio receivers that are in your car or home. Radio receivers pick up signals in AM and FM frequencies. Radar detectors find the frequencies that are used by police officials using radar guns. Once the radar detector finds a frequency being directed at your car, it signals the driver somehow, most likely by beeping. It is a simple technology. Although, as law enforcement agencies expand the frequencies to detect speed, companies need to produce more radar detectors
That's the X band detector. X band was the first radar band used for speed enforcement, but it was replaced by K and KA bands later on. Many store security systems have X band emissions that trip false alarms on radar detectors. If your detector has a "city mode" (as mine calls it), enable that. It'll stop falsing on X band signals while still warning you about the common police bands.
POP is a type of radar mode which only a couple of radar guns have. In essence, radar gun in POP mode emits an extremely brief signal to measure a car's speed. This brief signal lasts for less than 1/5 of a second. POP mode can not legally be used to write speeding tickets since it is not as accurate as the radar gun's normal operating modes, and since POP mode provides absolutely no radar tracking history.
Most people turn off POP mode in their radar detector's options since POP radar is very rarely encountered and since users experience excessive false alerts with POP turned on.
Spectre refers to the Spectre radar detector detector (RDD) which police use to locate drivers who are using radar detectors. The current Spectre models in use by law enforcement are the Spectre III and IV models. Some Cobra radar detectors claim to be able to detect the Spectre I. This is of no value since all Spectre I RDDs have been upgraded to later Spectre models which Cobra radar detectors can not detect. In short, turn Spectre detection off since this feature is a needless source of false alerts.
Radar detectors are not police detectors. Radar detectors only alert to police when the police have their radar guns turned on. Most police officers operate their radar guns in "instant-on" mode rather than leaving their radar guns turned on continuously. Instant-on operation involves very briefly turning the radar gun on for up to a second or two in order to get a vehicle's speed.
Cobra radar detectors are known to have great difficulty detecting the 35.5 Ka band radar gun frequency. This should be considered a serious problem since 35.5 Ka is the second most popular Ka radar gun frequency following the most commonly encountered 34.7 Ka radar gun frequency. There isn't much that Cobra can do about this issue since their competitors hold all of the really good patented solutions for detecting 35.5 Ka police radar while ignoring false alerts caused on this frequency due to other radar detectors.
The x-band is the considered a "trash band". It picks up things like automatic doors at supermarkets and such. About every radar detector made has an X band for non-police radar. There is no way to turn this band off on the XRS-757.
Holding down the dim button for 2 seconds turns the V alert on/off
Holding down the city button for 2 seconds turns the Spectra on/off
Holding both city and dim together for 2 seconds turns K and Ku band on/off.
X stands for wide band radars(easy to detect, lots of false alarms) K/Ka stands for pulse band radars(similar signal has auto doors) W,L stands for laser detection (very little false signals) Ku stands for signal most used on speed cameras V stands for radar detectors detector Have in mind that you can only lower your speed 20-30 km/h in city zones, and up to 50 km/h on highway. This depends on car, brakes and You.
You should try to find out what type of radar devices your police uses.ESD7000 model does not support some devices such as Ku band radar signal, but it should detect all laser signal.Laser signal is often jammed by sun light. If your police uses radar detector detectors VG2 it will force your detector to hide from it making it invisible for detecting.Try talking to someone who has other type of detector that works in your town.It is possible that you will be forced to buy another model.
When "X" lights up, this means that your RD is either detecting X band police radar or that it is detecting an X band microwave automatic door opener.
When "K" lights up, this means the same as above except that the radar signal is a K band radar signal.
When "Ka" lights up, then this means that your RD is detecting police Ka band radar since no automatic door openers operate on Ka band.
When "VG-2" lights up, this is supposed to mean that your RD is detecting a VG-2 radar detector detector (RDD). Police use RDDs such as the VG2 and the Spectre to indicate that a motorist is using a radar detector.
