Question about HP DC170B Keyboard
My keyboard is locked and when typing i have to press the fn button for normal letters to be typed how do i unlock it
You need to find the special function key that, when used with the Fn key, locks the Fn function on. On my keyboard it's the F11 key.
Press the Fn key and that key and your keyboard will return to normal.

If the wrong characters appear when you are typing or you are trying to use a keyboard that is different than the one that came with the computer, use the following steps to synchronize Windows to the type of keyboard you have:
A Text Services and Input Languages window opens.
Figure 3: Change Keyboard button
Figure 4: Add button
Figure 5: Add input language: US Dvorak keyboard selected.
The new keyboard is added to the list of available keyboards and a keyboard icon appears on the system tray, allowing you to switch between the keyboard that you want to use with the mouse.
