I lost the disc that came with this mp3 player. I put a new battery in and all it shows is the word starting. I plug it into the computer and it won't let me format it or anything else. Where can I get the software or should I just give up.

The disk you used the first time should still have a copy on file in your computer. Look for AMV Converter; AMV Player; Media Manager; MP3 Player Disk Manager; MP3 Player Upgrade Tool; Uninstall. My little booklet said I didn't need the drivers on the disk but I wanted to know more about the machine than what I could get from the horrible english version of the booklet. I bought the extended warrenty for mine.

Last resort: Click on the UPGRADE TOOL and when you get to the companies website for the download, switch to the: contact us email, if you registered your machine for the warrenty they may let you purchase a replacement disk.

- I FOUND THE DISC AND THE BOOKLET!!! The booklet says all needed software is already loaded on your player. But to download personal music choices from your own computer you need to get the computer to recognise the player as an extention, removeable disc drive or plug and play device.
1. First open up your computers network map or systems configuration from control panel, and note all the extended products you have connected to your computer (printer, mouse, keyboard, speakers, modems) some of which are connected through USB cables. Now plug in your MP3 Player to see if it is listed.
If you have an older system before WIN 2K SP4 and if you choose 2 disk drives for your player, you will need to choose JUST ONE to utilize for the music. This may be all you will see on an older version of Windows.
2. To get the computer to recognize the player: a) make sure it is not the fault of the USB cable, a good solid connection at either end, and that nothing is distorted at the metal tips. The cable has not been stepped on or wound tightly in a coil, twisted, knotted, or stretched, all of which can ruin the fibers inside of the cable. 2. Try another computer. Just plug it in with your cable and see if the local Librarys Computer Sees It! If not then it's probably your cable. If the local Library computer sees it then it is the USB connection on your home computer.
3. Try a different slot if one extra one is available. If not unplug something you can do without for a few moments to see if this corrects the trouble.
4.The booklet also advises not to download any firmware from any other third party. Their phone number is 1-800-998-7771.
5. On your computer systems network on Windows Vista click Update driver after you click or highlight the player while it is conected. Let the computer search the web for one.
Operating systems supported Windows 98/SE/ME/2K/XP, Mac OS 10, Linux 2.4.2 Music formats MP1, MP2, MP3, WMA, WMV, ASF, WAV Full Speed USB 1.1 Read Speed (MAX): 3MB byt/s Write Speed (MAX): 3MB byte/s. CPU Flash Memory 128MB-256MB-512MB depends on if you partitioned the drive in to 2 or 3 drives.
Do Not Lose your password for your MP3 Flash drive if it is to be encrypted. I use a little address book for my passwords. Sometimes I note DishNetwork Bill $43.45, which is actually my ??pass code of 4345 (an example) But anyone glancing at my little book would not think much of my bill, as anything other than what was stated. You can Encrypt one section to use it as a flash drive lock for a computer or to store any personal files you need handy and safe (page 15) Under Windows 2000 SP4 and above you will see 2 disks, under older operating systems you will only see one as a removalble disk under SYSTEMS or network. If you wish to see the other under older systems you should enter SYS menu of the player and select Multi Drive for Online Mode. Have not seen any reaction on this note to you so I hope it was of some use: The first note I responded to you with.
