Hi,

Looked up Honeywell Minizone code ZMS on Yahoo .There is a pdf file on the system.Call 8008288367 Zoning hotline number. Depending if your heat led is flashing red indicates Exceeds Hi limit in heating.

Flashing green cool LED Sensor exceeds low limit in cool .
OR

You have to remember that when a house heats up, everything in it heats up, including the furniture, walls and floor, and attic insulation, and these things will continue to radiate heat into the rooms, heating up the cooler air that you're now pouring into the rooms. So more is involved than just changing the air in the rooms. (Which is the main reason it takes so long to cool off a car that's been sitting out in the sun on a hot day, as opposed to one that's been in a garage. The seats, the sheet metal, the carpeting--it's all been heated up to over 100 degrees.)

You could check the temperatures of the air where it comes out of the registers to see how cold the air really is (or isn't).

If you haven't charged the unit for a year it should be done again, especially if the units are not new. They can run low on freon even if there are no obvious leaks..

Thanks

My Honeywell thermostat isnt keeping my house cool even though the temp is set to 69. Currently 90 degrees in here

Its probably not the thermostat. The air conditioner may be stuck on heating mode. If its a reverse cycle, the reversing valve may be jammed so even when the thermostat is calling for cold air, it stays on heat. If the machine is on heating mode, it should be blowing cold air out of the outdoor unit of the air con. If its on cooling mode, the outdoor should be blowing hot air.

Why can't I lower my honeywell 8500 below 67 on cool?

With a two story house you have to be aware that cold air flows downwards so any cold air coming from an ac unit will flow downstairs( normally down the stairway) so unless you can close off the down stairs then the up stairs unit will be cooling downstairs as well. Ac units have a thermostat located in the air intake and it cools until the cold air has risen to that point. In effect the space above the ac unit will be hotter than the floor. Knowing how they work ,you can see that the upstairs unit will never reach the set temperature because the cold air is continually heating from the house and will never get to the top thermostat.
So your solutions are
1-- fit controls that restrict the cold air from leaving the upper floor (Doors)
2--don't run the upper ac unit unless you are living up there (waste of money
)3 place an ac in each upper room and keep the room door closed

Why is my airco not cooling?

I believe that error code refers to a defective Indoor Coil Temperature Sensor (Thermistor); probably an "open" or "shorted" condition.

You should look in the air handler( Where the indoor blower is located) or in the plenum (where the duct system originate at the air handler) for any dead and rotting rats. Residential central air systems are sealed (uses circulated air only) and do not use outdoor air.

What should I do in order to make sure my dog house stays cool in the summer?

In order to keep your dog's house cool during hot summer days, consider to do the following:
  • Place the dog house in the shade so it doesn't get too hot from the sun.
  • Make sure that the house is ventilated so warm air can come out.
  • If it gets really hot inside the house, you should put a fan to cool the house down or buy a small air conditioning unit made for dog houses.
  • Place a cooling mat on the ground of the house. This will help the dog to cool down during the hot summer days.

Manual for Arctic Cool Air Conditioner Model #AP-08CR1FACS

hi there...I am MiLi,

I've a question about this, because I've a similar problem.
My airco is displaying this code E2, and I'm wondering what it means.
I don't have the manual anymore to look it up. And the Airco stopped cooling, it is blowing warm or house temperature air.
It is set to cool, but blows warm air.

Is there someone who can help me out with this?
I just want to know what this code E2 means and what to do about it.

MiLi

I cannot get our house cooled down. We have a RTH230B Honeywell thermostat. The central air has been running for 24 hours. I set it to 72F and our house is still 82 degreesF

Did you go outside and check the exterior housing? Look for oil on the pad; accumulation of leaves, etc that restrikes air flow; and is the exterior fan running? I doubt if it is your thermostat!

On the interior, you should see some water coming from the condenser exhaust hose also.

Check the filters. Clean or replace them. If you are refering to the batteries in the remote, look for a reset button or hole and stick a paper clip in it. You will have to reset your clock.
