Most likely a corroded connection or a bad headlight. Start by pulling the plug off the back of the headlight to check for corrosion on the contacts. Clean the contacts with a fine wire brush if needed. Reinstall the plug. If one wire goes to the chassis from the plug, check that the connection is tight. If the light is still dim, chances are the bulb is partially burned out. At this point I would buy a new headlight and install it, but you can switch the headlights (or bulbs, depending on the style you have) to be sure before buying anything. After swapping headlights, if the driver's side is now dim, it's a bad bulb; if the passenger side is still dim, you have a bad wire, most likely between the headlights.
In low beams or high or both?
that is caused by:
1: bad held lamp. old lamps can go dim.
swap left and right, if dim follows bulb, bingo weak bulb or wrong type bulb. buy matching blubs (same brand and P/n)
2: bad wiring to lamp. damaged wires, or connectors to same.
4: bad combo switch. (if low beams)
5: bad fuse or holder, corrosion , to either.
head lamp fuses. there are 2. left and right.
6: hackers, many hackers put in wrong lights. inspect it.

i have no idea about an idle up solenoid relay but i had the same problem.. there is a hex screw on the motor that takes a very small allen wrench head where you can adjust the idle from there. its near the throttle body

SOURCE: ignition timing for 1991 Pontiac Firefly or 1991 Chevrolet Sprint or 1991 Geo Metro
for 1991 geo metro 1.0 liter 3 cyl engine the timing is 6 degrees before top dead center. you will need a tachometer because the rpm must be 800 when you set the timing. also you will need to disconnect the vacuum advance to the distributor, and plug the hose to avoid a vacuum leak. (alternate method is to pinch the vacuum advance hose going to the distributor while you are setting the timing) Good Luck!

Auto Trans I had to replace solenoid in transmission there are two of them when you drop the pan. After testing with a 12 volt battery one was bad replaced and transmission works fine. Mine was a 1996, cost about $90 for solenoid.

The filter is located just forward of the rear axle. If you slide in just in front of the rear driver side wheel, it will be an inch above your nose
