Question about Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook
I have an Acer Aspire 5315 laptop and I am trying to install an old HP LaserJet 1100. To use I had to purchase a USB cable. For some reason my laptop will not recognize the USB cable. When I plug in the cable to the USB port it automatically searches for the cable driver software but it doesn't find any. I didn't realize that a cable has a driver and the cable didn't come with a disk. I don't even know who manufactured the cable. On the actual cable it says "USB Shielded High Speed Cable 2.0 Revision 28AWG/2C+24aWG/2C E188601-U Type CM". I have searched the internet for cable drivers but am not sure what to look for exactly.
USB cables are just that. No drivers are needed. What it is searching for are the drivers for the device that is plugged in via the USB cable.
