Question about Lexmark Inkjet Z517 Photo Printer
Hey, i recently installed my friends old 517 onto my compter (only 6-7 months old)and trying to print off a test page noticed that there was no black ink, and anything i printed afterwards would have no black ink whatsoever (a microsoft word document for example comes out blank instead of with text), the ink cartridges are only 4 months old, is it possible that this is just a case of dried up ink or something else (im doubting its dried up ink because i was the first person to use the 4 months old ink cartridge), please help
I have a z600 that i use. If not used for about a month the ink does clog the print nozzles and eventually ink cartridge does dry out. To avoid this even if i dont have to print anything I run a diagnostics test that prints out a nozzle aligment test every two weeks. The great thing about this is that it uses very little ink.You can find this test in your software that was provided by Lexmark. This will keep your nozzles cleaned and you will notice this helps extend the life of your cartridge.
