Re: Can't Ping D-Link Di-704P

Hi, A couple of things you can try: 1. verify that your LAN cable from router to PC is good. There should be some indicator LEDs lighting up when connected/linked; 2. Co to Start, Control Panel, right click on your Local Area Connection, Properties, highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click on Properties, tick Use the following IP address > IP address; Subnet mask; Default gateway, OK; 3. Check if you can ping; 4. If not, you may need to do a hard reset your router. Pls be reminded that all configurations on the router would be reset to default; 5. If the reset does not work, then perhaps the router would need replacement. Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Does PING works on the same location where Camera's are located?

Usually, RDP connections uses the same PC on LAN and that should work fine. Please check Camera's configuration; make sure they have valid IP address, SM, Default gateway and DNS servers. Make sure that PC with enabled RDP can PING computers on the LAN either by IP address or Computer name. Make sure they're part of the same WORK GROUP.

Hope this helps! Please provide additional information so I can further assist you.

I cant access router ip address

You must make sure that your PC get connection with the router first. you must enter on the command prompt.
1st step- click start, go on run.
2nd step- type "cmd", there will be a black window which will opened.
3rd step- write "ipconfig", there will be a default gateway given just below the subnet mask.
4th step- write ping then the default gateway; for example: "ping". if is is replying, your PC get connection with your router. But if not there may be a problem with your cable or something else. then your can try to make a reset no your router. there is a reset button at the back of the router.

I can't get to

Is this the IP address of the router or computer.
When you open the command prompt, try to ping that number and check if you get replies.
If you are trying to access the router then make sure that you are using the default gateway number.

D-Link DI-704P as wireless

Yes, you have to. The router model mentioned is not a wireless router, not unless you have other network device there that transmits wireless connection such as a wireless access point.

Sympatico & DLink DI-704P

It usually is simple, and hopefully the answer is as well. If you haven?t already done so unplug the modem and the router. Wait for a few seconds and then plug the modem in followed by the router. Reboot your PC and try the Internet again. If it still doesn?t work then I would try doing a hard reset of your router and reconfigure using the setup process outlined by the manufacturer. If that still doesn?t work let us know and we?ll continue ?.
